Resolved – Password synchronization is currently offline

Passwords are currently not synchronizing between MyFAU and Microsoft Windows. We are investigating and will update this post at or before 9 pm.

9 pm update: We have identified that the problem is related to DNS. We are now attempting to restart the password synchronization service. We will update this post at or before 10pm.

10 pm update: Passwords are again synchronizing between MyFAU and Microsoft Windows. We will contact all users whose passwords failed to synchronize on Tuesday morning to repair their accounts.

Completed – Exchange frontend server restarts

The exchange servers that manage frontend (OWA/Outlook) connections will be restarted one at a time to address a mail delivery problem. There should be little to no impact to end users.

Completed – IRM Systems Maintenance, May 26, 2011 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

IRM will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deem necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 05/26/2011 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during IRM maintenance window.  In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Description of Maintenance: Financial Aid patch will be installed in Banner production (FAUP) tomorrow morning.  All related applications will remain available

Completed – Voice System Maintenance

On Thursday May 26th from 5:00am till 7:00am CSI will be performing telephone system maintenance and software upgrades to the telephones at the FAU Boca Police Dept. In the event of an emergency the FAU police department can be reached at 561-271-5163. At all FAU peer campuses local police can be reached by dialing 911 from a cellular or FAU-phone. On the Boca Raton campus local police can be reached by Dialing 911 from a cellular or other non-FAU-phone.

Completed – Voice System Maintenance

On Friday May 27th from 5:00am till 7:00am CSI will be performing telephone system maintenance that will interrupt telephone service on the Jupiter Campus. Other Northern campuses may experience intermittent outages. All off campus calls originating from the Northern campuses may require dialing a seven or ten digit number for all off campus calls. If you are trying to reach the Northern campuses, the ten digit number might be required. In the event of an emergency the FAU police department can be reached at 561-297-3500 by using a cellular or other non-FAU phone, and local police can be reached by Dialing 911 from a cellular or other non-FAU-phone.

Description of Maintenance:
The Blackboard 9.1 production servers “struts-config.xml” file is missing a validation flag that causes the Course Cartridge Import Status to produce an HTTP 500 error. The problem is corrected by adding the validation flag to the file on each server. Each server will require a PushConfigUpdates.sh script to run to make the changes effective.

Resolved – Jupiter data circuit congested

The Metro Ethernet data circuit that connects the Jupiter campus and Boca Raton campus is congested due to incorrect ATT settings. We are working with ATT to correct this issue.
