OIT Systems Maintenance, Thursday, June 6 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 06/06/2013 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

When: 6:00 – 6:30 AM
Affected Systems: Symantec Servers (seeker4, seeker5 and vkiller3)
Description of Maintenance: Upgrade to latest version.
User Impact: None — update will be done one at a time — approximately 5 minutes each server.

When: 5:00 – 7:00 AM

Affected Systems: Bert, NS, Seeker2, Seeker3, Irmftp, faujsa
Description of Maintenance: Systems will be physically moving 6 servers from RU04 to RU05 in order to make space for new hardware.
User Impact: During the actual move of
Bert: master dns server; should be no user impact.
NS: one of 3 outward facing nameservers; should be no user impact as the other servers are live.
Seeker2 and Seeker3: 2 of 4 symantec gateways; perhaps email will be slowed down a little.
Irmftp: no access to irmftp; scripts running at time of move will be unsuccessful.
Faujsa: no access to faujsa; Jewish Sound Archives site will be down.
When: 5am to 6am.
Affected Services: google migrator, graduate admissions application, network registration.
Affected Systems: enzo, boc22ora03
User Impact: Affected services will be unavailable during the maintenance window.
Reason: Schemas and data for listed services are being migrated from enzo to boc22ora03.

When: 5:00AM – 6:00AM
Affected services: Appworx
Affected systems: Appworx
Description of maintenance: The Apache web services for Appworx production (FAUP) will be upgraded.
User impact: Appworx users will not be able to access the web console. Jobs will continue to run.

When: 5am to 7am.
Affected Services: ODS production environment. Webfocus won’t be able to connect to the ODS database.
Affected Systems: odsprod
User Impact: Affected services will be unavailable during the maintenance window.
Reason: Oracle database patch set updates and host patch installations
