Instructional Technologies is here to help you start the semester successfully. We offer workshops, one-on-one appointments, general support, and additional guidance to get you ready for Fall 2026. View our resources and updates below for details regarding Canvas, Zoom, Turnitin and more.
- New Quizzes
- The next era of Canvas’s quiz creation is here. This feature is enabled for all courses and allows you to choose whether to create assessments with Classic Quizzes or New Quizzes. If you are looking to create richer questions, improve analytics, and provide an accessible testing experience, explore New Quizzes and check out how you can create them, and additional guides to learn more.
- Turnitin LTI 1.3
- Turnitin LTI 1.3 introduces new assignment modes and features while keeping a familiar interface for instructors and students and streamlining your assignment creation workflow. You no longer need to create an “External Tool” assignment to use Turnitin in your course (doing so creates an assignment with the old tool). Instead, you can create an assignment from the three dots button at the top right of the Assignments page and select Turnitin. Check out the quickstart guide for instructions and view their recommended content import process to properly copy Turnitin assignments from one course to another.
- Accessibility Remediation links
- Review and revise courses to meet accessibility standards. With tools like Ally and Toptal, you can assess the accessibility of your courses and fix PDFs in bulk. If you need assistance with your course, create a Help desk ticket with your details.
- Visit our FAU page on Ally for more guides.
- Zoom
- Zoom is our videoconferencing tool for online learning. Access your FAU Zoom license and learn how to schedule meetings in and out of Canvas.
- Instructors can create office hour sessions using the Zoom Scheduler.
- Visit our Zoom resources page for more guides and info.
- AI Details:
- FAU instructors have Gemini and Copilot accounts when they sign in with their FAU email addresses. Find out more about how FAU is leveraging AI.
- Mediasite
- Mediasite is a video recording platform for instructors to create supplemental content for their courses. You can access Mediasite from your course’s settings page. Learn more by attending training or a one on one appointment.
