Meant to optimize accessibility and responsiveness, the update adds flexibility to how users participate in discussions and includes features expanding available grading options. The currently set enforcement date for these changes is <strong>July 20, 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you would like to activate these enhancements prior to the enforcement date in any of your courses:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Open any of your courses in Canvas<\/li><li>Click the <strong>Settings<\/strong> link in the navigation menu<\/li><li>Click the <strong>Feature Options<\/strong> tab<\/li><li>Click the red <strong>X<\/strong> icon to the right of the <strong>Discussions\/Announcements Redesign<\/strong> option<\/li><li>Click <strong>Enabled <\/strong>to turn the feature on.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If you would like to revert to the previous design\/options, you can repeat the abovementioned steps and select <strong>Disabled<\/strong> in step 5. However, know that they will be permanently enabled after <strong>July 20, 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the next few weeks, we&#8217;ll be releasing articles highlighting individual improvements from this update including <strong>interface changes, mentions, and quotes <\/strong>along with upcoming features such as the <strong>checkpoints (multiple due dates) <\/strong>function.
