We offer a variety of services, including workshops, one-on-one appointments, general support, and other resources to get you ready for the new semester. Check out the documents and tips below to get started:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Simple Syllabus Updates<\/strong><ul><li>Starting this semester, Gen Ed course syllabi in Simple Syllabus will feature a new component labeled <strong>Gen. Ed. Course Learning Outcomes<\/strong> replacing the original <strong>Course Objectives\/Student Learning Outcomes<\/strong> component.<ul><li>Official Gen Ed learning outcomes will be automatically imported and updated, meaning you don&#8217;t have to worry about making edits or publishing changes.<\/li><li>While this new component can not be edited, instructors can create new, editable components for any additional details. Just use the &#8220;<strong>Reorder<\/strong>&#8221; button in the syllabus editor to place custom content below the automated Gen Ed section.<\/li><li>Previously created content from old course objectives component can still be imported into new or existing syllabi by pressing the &#8220;<strong>Import<\/strong>&#8221; button and clicking on the items you&#8217;d like to transfer over.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><ul><li>The <strong>Student Support Services<\/strong> components in your syllabi have been updated to include new resources from specific academic departments. A new internal component in your editor features extra resources that you can choose to include in your published syllabus.<br><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Canvas Updates &#8211; Graded Discussions Checkpoints<\/strong><ul><li>Canvas has released a new update that allows for faculty to assign multiple due dates to discussion assignments. For those who are interested, Instructure <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Instructor-Guide\/How-do-I-create-a-graded-discussion\/ta-p\/1019#set-graded-discussion\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Instructor-Guide\/How-do-I-create-a-graded-discussion\/ta-p\/1019#set-graded-discussion\" target=\"_blank\">released an article<\/a><\/strong> going in depth on how to try out this new feature.<br><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Lockdown Browser Updates<\/strong> &#8211; two new features to choose from in your Lockdown Browser settings:<ul><li><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/support.respondus.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/37037944679451-Using-Excel-with-Respondus-Monitor\" target=\"_blank\">Excel While Testing<\/a><\/strong>: You can now enable a feature for students to switch to the desktop version of Microsoft Excel while taking a Lockdown Browser assessment.<\/li><li><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/web.respondus.com\/screen-recording-for-respondus-monitor\/\" target=\"_blank\">Screen Recording<\/a><\/strong>: Respondus Monitor (the webcam proctoring part of Lockdown Browser) now allows for screen recording to allow you to view what your students see while taking your exams.<br><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>AI Training Courses<\/strong><ul><li>Whether its learning how to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/canvas.fau.edu\/enroll\/L7W9H4\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/canvas.fau.edu\/enroll\/L7W9H4\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>strengthen your prompting skills when using AI<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"color: initial\"> or <\/span><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/canvas.fau.edu\/enroll\/9LYCYJ\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/canvas.fau.edu\/enroll\/9LYCYJ\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>building a foundation of AI fluency<\/strong><\/a> <span style=\"color: initial\">the courses from our AI Chronicles series might be more your speed.<\/span><\/li><li>If you&#8217;d prefer to participate in a live online class or would prefer to learn in person, our <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fau.edu\/ai\/ai-plaiground\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.fau.edu\/ai\/ai-plaiground\/\" target=\"_blank\">AI PL<em>AI<\/em>GROUND<\/a><\/strong> sessions and other available online trainings should be able to help.
