{"id":10172,"date":"2023-10-31T13:51:17","date_gmt":"2023-10-31T17:51:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.fau.edu\/oit\/?p=10172"},"modified":"2023-11-07T08:24:20","modified_gmt":"2023-11-07T13:24:20","slug":"lockdown-browser-issue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.fau.edu\/oit\/2023\/10\/lockdown-browser-issue\/","title":{"rendered":"[RESOLVED] &#8211; Lockdown Browser Issue"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Update: LockDown Browser for Windows, version 2.1.1.05, has been released.\u00a0This release addresses a false positive with AVG and Avast virus detection software and security enhancements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Existing installs of LockDown Browser will be auto-updated shortly.\u00a0To obtain the latest version (2.1.1.05) use the &#8220;Check for Update&#8221; feature or run the full installation program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>************<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a known issue with Respondus Lockdown Browser for Windows for users running AVAST or AVG anti-virus software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both anti-virus products are currently being incorrectly detected by LockDown Browser as a blocked application. They are working to create a fix to correct this &#8220;false positive,&#8221; and this fix will take a few weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Respondus advises students running either product that they will need to temporarily disable Avast\/AVG when needing to take an exam that requires LockDown Browser. Once the exam is submitted, they can enable Avast\/AVG again.
