{"id":1504,"date":"2012-08-01T11:30:44","date_gmt":"2012-08-01T15:30:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.fau.edu\/irm\/?p=2108"},"modified":"2012-08-01T11:30:44","modified_gmt":"2012-08-01T15:30:44","slug":"oit-systems-maintenance-thursday-august-2-from-300am-to-700am","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.fau.edu\/oit\/2012\/08\/oit-systems-maintenance-thursday-august-2-from-300am-to-700am\/","title":{"rendered":"OIT Systems Maintenance, Thursday August 2 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 08\/02\/2012 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window.\u00a0 In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:<\/p>\n<p>When: August 1, 11:00pm until August 2, 7:00am<br \/>\nAffected services: Windows workstation clients in buildings 4, 8, 22, 31, 80<br \/>\nAffected systems: Windows workstation clients in buildings 4, 8, 22, 31, 80<br \/>\nDescription of maintenance: The SCCM client will be installed on workstations in buildings\u00a04, 8, 22, 31, 80.\u00a0 Additionally, a patch concerning performance issues with high system load caused by the WMI process checking its database for consistency on login (KB2617858) will be automatically installed. The SCCM client will be operational immediately and typically does not require a reboot. The deployed patch does require two reboots. Users may reboot at their leisure unless they report a problem with their system becoming slow, in which case they may be instructed to complete two reboots immediately.<br \/>\nUser impact: Typically no user impact is expected, however several cases have been reported of poor system performance due to the above mentioned issue.
