Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 05\/09\/2013 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:<\/p>\n
The following services will be unavailable during the maintenance window: Exchange, Blackboard, MyFAU, Video Conference<\/p>\n
When: 12:00 AM – 7:30 AM
\nAffected services: Blackboard
\nAffected systems: Blackboard
\nDescription of maintenance: The goal of this upgrade is to install the latest Blackboard service pack. This includes several security improvements as well as the addition of new features and enhancements to blackboard.
\nUser impact: Blackboard will be unavailable during the upgrade.<\/p>\n

\nAffected services: Exchange Email
\nAffected systems: Exchange
\nDescription of maintenance: The Exchange servers will be moved to a new location and linked to a new network switch. Windows updates will also be applied to all Exchange servers.
\nUser impact: The Exchange service is highly available, however users may experience brief interruptions in service from Outlook, OWA, IMAP\/POP and ActiveSync clients during the window.<\/p>\n

\nDescription of maintenance: We are going to perform a periodic maintenance of My FAU.

\nDescription of maintenance: Middleware will be enabling a new feature on MyFAU to export course content (files\/photos) so that they may be imported into an instructor\u2019s blackboard course. MyFAU\u2019s tomcat server will be restarted which will make it inaccessible between the hours of 5-6 AM.
\nUser impact: MyFAU will be unavailable between the hours of 5-6 AM.<\/p>\n

\nDescription of maintenance: Enable the beta FAUVisitor Wireless Network on the Boca Raton Campus.
\nUser impact: After FAUVisitor has been enabled, visitors on the Boca campus can now log on to a wireless network on campus without having to request a courtesy account.<\/p>\n

\nDescription of maintenance: The Cisco videoconference infrastructure system is being updated to the latest software versions.
\nUser impact: End-user impact will be minimized at this time, because there are no classes in session and no videoconferences scheduled in this time frame. Specific areas have been contacted and are aware of the downtime.<\/p>\n
