Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 07\/20\/2017 from 3:00 AM to 7:00<\/strong> AM during OIT maintenance window.\u00a0 In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:<\/p>\n

Application maintenance – Single Sign On Upgrade
\nDescription of change:\u00a0 The single-sign on system used by most FAU users when logging into websites will be upgraded to provide an improved user experience.
\nDowntime window start: 3:00 AM
\nDowntime window end: 7:00 AM
\nAffected services:\u00a0 Single Sign On, Canvas, Banner, Workday, and all web based applications using Single Sign On
\nAffected systems:\u00a0 BigIP, shibboleth1p.fau.edu, shibboleth2p.fau.edu
\nExpected End-user impact:\u00a0 During this time, no downtime with single-sign on is expected.<\/p>\n

Server Maintenance\u00a0 – cuttlefish server migration
\nDescription of change:\u00a0 We are moving the server named cuttlefish to a different network more suited for its use.\u200b
\nDowntime window start: 5:30 AM
\nDowntime window end: 6:00 AM
\nAffected services:\u00a0 nagios, logins to other boxes, various scripts
\nAffected systems: cuttlefish, nautilus\u200b
\nExpected End-user impact:\u00a0 During this time, OIT internal users who rely on cuttlefish will probably experience various connection issues as overlooked firewall issues may need to be resolved throughout the day.\u00a0\u00a0 The Opsview nagios interface that user services and operations rely on for system and network status may be awry as well.\u200b<\/p>\n

Server maintenance\u00a0 – Directory server network migration
\nDescription of change:\u00a0 We are moving services between networks
\nDowntime window start: 5:00 AM
\nDowntime window end:\u00a0 6:00 AM
\nAffected services: DSEE LDAP
\nAffected systems:\u00a0 ldapboc0, ldapboc1\u200b
\nExpected End-user impact: During this time we do not anticipate any end-user impact; however, the following services might be intermittently unavailable:
\nIDM, dhcp\u200b, frevvo, piwik, privateeye, privateeyetest, fauvcp, kiosk, swifttickets, notify, webferret, baselinelistentest, baselinelisten, macverter, sso-module, phonebill2, chessboard, mfa, password, pt, ach, netreg<\/p>\n

Server maintenance –\u00a0 BHRIC Compellent Upgrade
\nDescription of change: OIT is upgrading the BHRIC Storage cluster
\nDowntime window start: 4:00 AM
\nDowntime window end: 7:00 AM
\nAffected services:\u00a0 BHRIC DFS (user profiles) and VM storage\u200b
\nAffected systems: boc22-em, boc22-s-compellent-1, boc22-s-compellent-2
\nExpected End-user impact:\u00a0 During this time no end-user impact is expected.<\/p>\n

Server maintenance – Banner patches
\nDescription of change:\u00a0 OIT will be performing patches to the Banner system to provide up-to-date functionality in Banner 8 and additional supporting infrastructure for Banner XE
\nDowntime window start: 3:00 AM
\nDowntime window end: 7:00 AM
\nAffected services:\u00a0 Banner INB will be unavailable for a brief period of time during the installation of the two upgrades but the effects on the user population should be minimized because it will take place during the maintenance window at which time Banner accessibility is usually diminished
\nAffected systems: Banner 8 General module in production, \u200bBanner 8 Student module in production
\nExpected End-user impact:\u00a0 \u200bDuring this time, Banner INB will be unavailable for a brief moment<\/p>\n
