FAU’s Strategic Plan: The Race to Excellence
2015 — 2025
Today, Florida Atlantic University’s Board of Trustees unanimously approved our Strategic Plan. This document will guide our institutional decision making during the next 10 years.
Click here to read the final plan, and to see the redlined version of the plan that was shared online some weeks ago. Many comments from the campuses over the past month were incorporated into the final version.
The Strategic Plan was created with input from across our campuses, with all academic departments consulted. While the document lays out clear aspirations and goals, it is not designed with a rigid framework. The plan will be regularly reviewed and revised as necessary, so please continue to provide input through your departments.
The plan will help us define the university. It enables us to completely rethink how we collaborate within the university, and how we can all do more to effectively work together. At the heart of our mission is student success, and we will never ease up in our commitment to our student body.
The plan is developed by a structure of pillars and platforms that will guide institutional goals and strategic actions. Pillars define institutional programs focused on creating knowledge that benefits society. Platforms represent scholarly activities across the university that apply to and support the pillars.
Our goals range from embracing our sense of place in South Florida to creating a competitive and global student body.
Please take some time to look over the plan. From this point on, decisions in all areas of the university will be made to ensure the plan’s successful implementation.
We are Making Waves at FAU as we “race to excellence,” and we all have an important role to play in the university’s future.
Go Owls!
