Jupiter Shuttle – Summer 2017

The Jupiter intercampus shuttle bus will not be in operation during the Summer terms. The bus route will resume operation in the Fall on Monday, August 21st. The Boca Raton campus shuttles are still operating on the normal summer schedule. Spring 2017 Commencement

The Spring 2017 Commencement Ceremonies will be held on Thursday, May 4th and Friday, May 5th, 2017 in the Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium on the Boca Raton Campus. The commencement times are scheduled for 9:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. on both Thursday and Friday.

Traffic will be especially heavy on both days of graduation, particularly at the Glades Road entrance along West University Drive. Parking Lot 16, located directly in front of the Student Union, will be reserved for disabled and VIP access for ceremony attendees only. Please note that on graduation day, Lot 16 will be considered a reserved lot and not available for use by permit holders and will instead be designated for graduates and guests only.

Parking and Transportation Services and the FAU Police Department are requesting that all staff, faculty and students who work in Buildings Student Support Services (80), Student Union buildings (31 and 31A-E), and Housing (46) park in Lots 17, 19, 20 or Parking Garage One on Volusia Street.

Employees working in buildings 80, 46 and 31 with valid disabled placards will be able to park in Lot 16. Please access the parking lot using the south-east entrance off of Dade Avenue. When approaching the parking lot, please have your disabled parking permit visible for verification upon entry to the lot.

Out-of-State Resident Students – Summer 2017

Students,

If you live out of state and are planning to head home for the summer, you have the option to leave your FAU registered vehicle on campus for the duration of the summer term.*

Please make sure that you have followed the directions below before you leave to avoid incurring citations or fees during your absence.

  • You must be registered for the Fall Semester of 2017.
  • You must park in Lot 28 or 31. Parking in other lots is not permitted.
  • You must pay the Summer Permit Fee of $32.04 in person at the off­ice of Parking and Transportation Services. Do not pay online via your student account.

Upon completion of these steps, you are permitted to leave your vehicle on campus for the duration of the summer semester. Remember to remove all valuables and personal belongings!

Intercampus Shuttle Service

UPDATE: The Jupiter pick-up/drop-off location has been changed to the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College (MC-01) in front of the visitor loop. The shuttle route may be subject to change as we continue to receive feedback from the university community.

Parking and Transportation Services is pleased to announce the addition of an intercampus shuttle service that will begin on Monday, March 13th, 2017. The intercampus shuttle service is FREE for all students, faculty, and staff and will operate Monday through Friday from the Boca Raton Campus to the Jupiter Campus of Florida Atlantic University.

Lot Closure – Fri 1/27

Due to an event expected to take place on Saturday, January 28th, lot 14 will be closing on Friday, January 27th. All vehicles in lot 14 need to be removed by Friday evening, no later than 5:00 pm. Any vehicles still in the lot after 5:00 pm are subject to towing at the owner’s expense. Thank you for your cooperation.

Road Closure – Fri 12/9 – Mon 12/12

As part of the ongoing construction taking place on Spanish River Boulevard and the surrounding area, there will be a closure taking place on FAU Boulevard and Spanish River Boulevard from Friday, December 9th to Monday, December 12th between 9:00 pm and 5:00 am.

Spanish River Boulevard, from FAU Boulevard to NW 6th Avenue, will undergo a full closure, around the clock, 9 p.m. until 5 a.m., Friday night, Dec. 9 through Monday morning, Dec. 12. Eastbound traffic will be detoured via Airport Road and Glades Road. Westbound traffic will be detoured via Dixie Highway and Yamato Road. (Source: Florida Department of Transportation)

Cans for Cites – 2016 Holiday Season

WHAT: Pay for FAU Parking Citations with non-perishable canned goods. For every can brought in, a $5 credit will go toward the citation. For example, have a $25 citation? Pay with five cans! Exclusions apply. See Rules below for details. Canned food collected will benefit FAU’s Beyond Food Program and Boca Helping Hands. WHEN: Monday, November 14, 8 a.m. through Friday, December 9, 5 p.m.

WHERE: Parking & Transportation Services, Boca Raton Campus, Student Support Services, Bldg. 80

RULES: Applicable Citations: Citations $25.00 or less (i.e. no permit, back-in parking, etc.)
Excluded Citations: Citations with a fee $50.00 or more (i.e. hazardous parking, fire lane, loading, reserved, disabled, etc.); Citations for parking on grass/ sidewalk/ crosswalk, late citations.

Any citations meeting the criteria and issued during the program dates must be paid off with the non-perishable canned good by 5 p.m., Friday, December 9. Valid for one (1) citation per student.
