By creating videos for your course, you, as an instructor, can bring a new form of interaction to your students within their online learning experience. They can serve to supplement a lesson (i.e. short demos or explanations) or provide an entire hour-long lecture – including content from a PowerPoint presentation, a PDF document, or a webcam feed.
To make this possible in Canvas, we’ve integrated Sonic Foundry’s My Mediasite for you to use in your courses. The following video walks you through enabling My Mediasite in your Canvas Dashboard; installing and registering the MediaSite Desktop Recorder; creating a basic video presentation; editing that presentation; and finally, incorporating that presentation into a page in a canvas course. With this, you’ll learn everything you need to start creating multimedia presentations for your students.
This video is a bit longer than some of the other Quick-Tip videos. We recommend following along with the video and pausing it as you carry out the steps covered.
