TechEvents Monthly – November 2019

Posted on Posted in Events

This post is the first in a new monthly series that we’re publishing to keep you up to date with our live workshops, campus visits, and any other special events that are part of the Instructional Technologies calendar. It’ll go out during the last week of the month and get you informed on happenings for the month that follows. With that being said, let’s talk November!

We’re over the hump of midterms and getting closer to the end of the semester. Our team is hosting workshops to get you and your courses geared up for finals and the grade submission period. One big update for this month is a new event called Canvas: Grading, where we’ll take an hour to go over grading techniques in Canvas, gradebook setup methods, grade synchronization with publisher tools, and the Canvas SpeedGrader. Throughout the next few weeks, it will replace our Canvas: Getting Started workshops in our lab at CM 146 and be offered once a week at different times to accommodate your schedule.

This month will also see the launch of another monthly event from our staff: What’s New. This session will cover any visual and functional updates to Canvas and its associated software (Webex, Mediasite, etc.). It is a live event that will take place on the Boca Raton campus in CM 146, but it will also be broadcast and recorded over a Webex session so that folks on other campuses can attend or view at a later date.

Our other workshops will continue to run, including the My Mediasite Desktop Recorder, Canvas Tech Talk: Webex, and Open Labs sessions on different campuses. Our upcoming events are listed below.
