Welcome to November! We are excited to announce upcoming events and posts.
Earlier in the semester, we announced that FAU’s minimum Zoom version is 5.11.3. Additionally, Zoom announced its new policy to enforce a minimum version. This ensures everyone receives privacy, security enhancements, and the latest features. Please keep your Zoom client updated to prevent bugs and vulnerabilities from negatively impacting your Zoom experience.
The Canvas blog will have a biweekly Zoom feature breakdown series. We hope you find the series helpful as you learn the ways to personalize your Zoom sessions and leverage its tools.
Speaking of leveraging Zoom tools, Zoomtopia is almost here! The annual conference on November 8 and 9 will share what’s next in instructional technology in their education track. This track has four sessions on day one, November 8th, from 2 to 5 PM. Registration is open and free for all users.
FAU OIT recently announced that Google will stop offering unlimited storage for academic institutions. “Due to this change, all FAU Google users will have a 5 GB quota enforced on their account beginning November 18, 2022.” As a result, we encourage you to migrate your files and data from Google Drive to Microsoft OneDrive. For more information about how this impacts you and what you to do moving forward, navigate to OIT’s page on reducing Google workspace Storage.
