Rise Program Spring Applications Now Available

Are you interested in meeting new people and having exciting new experiences? Are you ready to get involved and start creating your legacy? Do you want free books for getting involved on campus? If you answered yes to any of these questions, the RISE program is for you.

By participation in the program, you get experiences to build FAU memories, meet new people, and earn up to three free books for the semester. Applications are due Friday, Jan. 12, 2018.

Career Certificate Program

In order to support the professional development of FAU students, the FAU Career Center offers the Career Certificate Program. The program accepts students year-round and obtaining the certificate is easy! The program assists students in becoming career-ready and to be more successful in the job and internship market. LGBTQ Peer Mentor Program: Mentors Needed

The LGBTQ Peer Mentor Program provides opportunities for LGBTQ students to provide mentorship to other LGBTQ students who may be questioning their sexual orientation or gender identity, feeling isolated, struggling with coming out issues, and/or questioning how to integrate their identity into all aspects of their lives (ethnic/racial identity, gender, religion, academic or career interests).

We are currently seeking mentors for the spring 2018 semester. If you have any questions or would like to apply, contact Whitney Hagen at hagenw@health.fau.edu or 561-297-3540. Deadline to apply is Friday, Dec. 22.

Need Money To Buy Books?

The Spring 2018 Short-Term Advance Application will be available on the MyFAU Money Matters tab beginning Monday, Nov. 20. If all eligibility criteria are met, the Short-Term Advances will be available for students starting Spring 2018 classes. Disbursement dates vary by student’s class start date. Visit the Short-Term Advance Application page for more details and eligibility requirements.

College of Medicine students will need to contact Ellen Gomes, Director of Financial Aid in the College of Medicine.
