2023 SUMMER PARKING ePERMITS AVAILABLE MAY 6th

Summer parking ePermits for students will be available starting May 6th and will expire August 18, 2023. Click here and follow the prompts to register. License plate numbers serve as the vehicle identifier, so please be sure all information is correct to avoid receiving a citation. Owls Care Health Promotion is Hiring!

Looking for a flexible on campus job? Owls Care Health Promotion is hiring for undergraduate Owls Care Leaders. Owls Care Leaders serve as an example to their peers in creating a culture of caring on their campus. It is expected that they demonstrate an interest in creating a community of caring; a history of successful leadership and involvement in program implementation; have the ability to disseminate information through various means including presentations and informal interactions; and have knowledge, interest, and a skill set providing education to students. Applicants must be a current full-time student with at least 1 year on campus and a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA.

The 8th Annual Women’s Leadership Institute

Boca Raton, Florida – Florida Atlantic University Division of Student Affairs hosted the 8th Annual Women’s Leadership Institute, March 15-17, 2023, on the Boca Raton campus with activities hosted in both the Student Union and the Schmidt Family Complex. The more than 200 attendees included FAU students, faculty and staff.

The Planning committee, comprised of representatives from the FAU Office of Owls Care Health Promotion and Women and Gender Equity Resource Center, Student Government, Phyllis and Harvey Sandler School of Social Work in the College of Social Work & Criminal Justice, Dean of Students Office, FAU Career Services, Student Activities and Involvement and the Office for Student- Athlete Success Center, were proud to bring the Women’s Leadership Institute to the FAU community in a multi-day format for the first time. This event was made possible with support from the FAU Executive Business Program and community partners NextEra Energy Resources and Behavioral Family Solutions.

The Women’s Leadership Institute is for all members of the university community who support enhancing opportunities for increased networking, skill building and empowerment. The 2023 program focused on the power of social and emotional intelligence through an interactive Lunch & Learn and WLI Feature Presentations.

FAU Restrictions on TikTok, WeChat and Other Applications

In accordance with a memo from the chancellor of the State University System (SUS) of Florida Board of Governors (BOG) regarding Emergency Regulation 3.0075, Florida Atlantic is taking immediate actions to protect the University from potential threats posed by certain applications or websites of concern. These applications are outlined in the BOG’s SUS Prohibited Technologies List.  

The prohibited list includes TikTok, WeChat, Vkontakte (VK), Kaspersky, and QQ (Tencent QQ).

FAU is taking the following technical measures to restrict the use of these applications or websites:

  1. Blocking access to the applications from all FAU networks, including wireless and residential halls
  2. Blocking access to the applications from University-owned devices where possible
  3. Taking actions to prevent the installation of the applications on University-owned devices where possible
  4. Removing the applications from University-owned devices where possible

FAU employees are to discontinue the use of these applications or websites on University-owned devices including, but not limited to, laptops, desktops, cell phones and tablets, and uninstall any such applications from their devices. If an employee has one of these applications installed on a University-owned device and requires assistance with removal, please contact your department’s IT staff or call the FAU Help Desk (561-297-3999).

Personally-owned devices are not subject to these restrictions when they are used off-campus. However, access to the applications will be blocked while devices are in use on FAU campuses or when connected to the University’s VPN.
