Boca Raton Parking Changes

Florida Atlantic will begin construction of a new seven-story residence hall on the Boca Raton campus in Spring 2025. The project will provide 674 additional student beds and will be located on the grassy area east of Parliament Hall. The residence hall is expected to be completed and ready for occupancy by Fall 2026.

Due to site constraints, the south portion of Parking Lot 28 (see photo) will be closed for the duration of the project to ensure campus safety and accommodate construction activities.

To address parking impacts, please note the following:

  • Residential students with green permits are directed to park in Parking Garage II (PK-88) on levels 4 and 5, including the up/down ramps between these levels
  • Faculty, staff and commuters are directed to park in Parking Garage II on levels 1, 2 and 3, as well as in Parking Lots 1, 25 and 27
  • A campus map with all parking lot locations is available here

The Florida Atlantic shuttle service will continue regular routes, with pick-up locations at the Indian River, Parliament Hall, and University Village Apartments (UVA) stops. For more information on shuttle routes, visit fau.etaspot.net.

Questions can be directed to faupark@fau.edu.

In accordance with a memo from the chancellor of the State University System (SUS) of Florida Board of Governors (BOG) regarding Emergency Regulation 3.0075, Florida Atlantic is taking immediate actions to protect the University from potential threats posed by certain applications or websites of concern. These applications are outlined in the BOG’s SUS Prohibited Technologies List.

The prohibited list includes TikTok, WeChat, Vkontakte (VK), Kaspersky, and QQ (Tencent QQ).

FAU is taking the following technical measures to restrict the use of these applications or websites:

  1. Blocking access to the applications from all FAU networks, including wireless and residential halls

Upcoming Changes to DUO Authentication

To the FAU community,

FAU will be expanding DUO multi-factor authentication requirements to additional services beginning June 16, 2022.

There is no action required. However, services such as the FAU Helpdesk and Canvas will begin requiring DUO authentication as part of the log-in process for everyone that has not previously opted to use DUO with these platforms.

In addition, all users will be signed out of any Office 365 applications they are currently signed into and will be required to log in again. Applications include Outlook, Sharepoint, Teams, and Onedrive. While this should be a one-time occurrence, you may receive multiple prompts to log in if you are signed into multiple applications or mailboxes.

Due to these enhancements, FAU will no longer be forcing regular password resets based on the age of the password. FAU will continue to enforce password resets in instances when an account is compromised or is believed to be compromised.

If you experience any issues signing into DUO-enabled applications, please contact the Helpdesk at 561-297-3999.
