Department of Education Announces New Title IX Regulations
On May 6, 2020, the United States Department of Education released new regulations under Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 related to sexual discrimination in education. FAU’s Office of Equity, Inclusion and Compliance and the Dean of Students’ Office are in the process of carefully reviewing our policies and regulations to ensure consistency with the new regulations before the August 14, 2020 effective date.
FAU will continue to comply with applicable federal, state and local discrimination/harassment laws to provide an educational, employment and business environment free of all forms of discrimination or harassment. The Office of Equity, Inclusion and Compliance will continue to work with the Dean of Students’ Office and our campus partners to offer services and educational programs designed to prevent and respond to prohibited sexual conduct and other forms of unlawful discrimination.
If you have any questions about Title IX or have been a victim of sexual misconduct, please contact FAU’s Title IX Coordinator, Donald Kamm at (561) 297-3004 or visit FAU’s Title IX website for information and resources.

Introduction to 3D Printing
3D printing has become commonplace at work and at home in recent years. With the advent of low cost printers, the novice can get started for just a couple of hundred dollars. Open source or free software has allowed the ability to design objects quickly and cheaply. Prebuilt designs for everyday use objects are available for free download on shared interest websites.
This primer webinar will introduce you to the basics of how to get started with 3D printing. We will cover topics including the different parts of a 3D printing setup (software, hardware, supplies) and share our experiences in using 3D printers for daily projects and personal interest activities. Attendees do not have to have any prior experience with 3D printing. There will be a Q&A session as well as live demos (what can go wrong!?).
Register for the webinar here.
