Florida Atlantic University is launching an exciting new paid internship program that allows juniors and seniors who have completed a minimum of 60 credits in all majors to gain experience in local government agencies and non-profit organizations. The Civic Owls internship program, funded by the President’s Office, will kick off in Spring 2026 and will be offered every Fall and Spring semester thereafter.

Parking Garage III on the Boca Raton campus will be fully closed from Friday, Dec. 26 through Sunday, Jan. 4

Please note the following parking and transportation information for the Boca Raton campus:

• New bus shuttle stops are now located in front of the Campus Operations Building (CO, #69) and in Parking Lot 19 at S.E. Wimberly Library (LY, #3)

• A bus shuttle stop will open, effective Monday, Aug. 18, at the north end of Parking Lot 5 near The Runway at Florida Atlantic® (TE, #106)

• The St. Lucie Ave. bus shuttle stop will move to Parking Lot 102 in front of Parliament Hall (PH, #102), effective Aug. 18

• The 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd floors of Parking Garage III (PK, #103) will reopen Saturday, Aug. 16, at 5 p.m.; certain areas of the 3^rd floor will remain blocked until Sunday Aug. 31 due to final construction on the 4^th floor (upper deck)

• The 4^th floor (upper deck) of Parking Garage III will reopen Saturday, Aug. 30, at 5 p.m.

• During the Fall 2025 semester and until completion of Talon Hall construction, resident students (green e-Permits) may park in Parking Garage II on the 4^th and 5^th floors only

• 126 parking spaces are currently blocked in the south end of Parking Lot 1 due to upcoming construction 

Fall 2025 parking ePermits are now available for students, faculty and staff. Click here and follow the prompts to register. Your license plate number serves as your vehicle identifier —please ensure all information is correct to avoid receiving a citation. You may register up to two vehicles per permit, but only one vehicle may be parked on campus at any given time. For more information, visit the Parking and Transportation Services website.

Participants will be provided a Fitbit to wear and complete online surveys every two months and may keep the Fitbit at the end of the study. Participants will be compensated for their time with an electronic gift cards. The study takes place online after the adoption of a pet dog or cat . Participants must not have any other cat or dog in the home. We are also looking for those who do not have any pets in the home to participate as no n-adopters for the control group. St. Lucie Avenue will permanently close for regular traffic effective Thursday, May 8, 2025. A new road, St. Lucie Ave. Extension, will open in July 2026 and allow through traffic to East University Drive. In addition, the St. Lucie Ave. South shuttle bus stop has been relocated from Parking Lot 102 to the circle at Parliament Hall. Access to Parking Garage 2 is only available via Arts Ave. A pedestrian safety access sidewalk will be installed from Parking Lot 28 to the Parliament Hall entrance (north of the construction site for Talon Hall). Parking Lot 28 is only accessible via Arts Ave.
