In order to support the professional development of FAU students, the FAU Career Center offers the Career Certificate Program. The program accepts students year-round and obtaining the certificate is easy! The program assists students in becoming career-ready and to be more successful in the job and internship market. The LGBTQ Peer Mentor Program provides opportunities for LGBTQ students to provide mentorship to other LGBTQ students who may be questioning their sexual orientation or gender identity, feeling isolated, struggling with coming out issues, and/or questioning how to integrate their identity into all aspects of their lives (ethnic/racial identity, gender, religion, academic or career interests).

The Spring 2018 Short-Term Advance Application will be available on the MyFAU Money Matters tab beginning Monday, Nov. 20. If all eligibility criteria are met, the Short-Term Advances will be available for students starting Spring 2018 classes. Disbursement dates vary by student’s class start date. The Weppner Center for LEAD & Service-Learning is proud to once again offer its annual Holiday Gift Drive to provide gifts for children in need. You can select your Gift Tag to fulfill a child’s gift request by stopping by our office in bldg.SS-8 rm.224, or contact us to schedule an office visit so we can bring the gift tags to you for selection. Owl Breaks (formerly known as Alternative Spring Break) is an opportunity to spend your course/semester Break, serving a community in need. You will travel with other students and staff members to a city within and outside of Florida where you will immerse yourself in service projects and learn about a particular social issue affecting that community. FAU has teamed up with the Palm Beach County Chapter of the American Heart Association and is looking for students, faculty, and staff to be part of our team. The Walk will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Meyer Amphitheater in West Palm Beach. Transportation is provided to and from FAU. Interested individuals should complete our registration form. TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint) is the joint which allows us to open/close our mouth for speaking, eating etc. Learn about why this joint is so important to your everyday life and how to maintain a healthy TMJ.
