IRM will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deem necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 07/21/2011 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during IRM maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

When: 3:00 am – 6:00 am Affected Services: Blackboard Production 9.1 Affected Systems: BBP1 -BBP7 and COLLAB servers Description of Maintenance: The Blackboard Learn application will be upgraded from Service Pack 5 to Server Pack 6. All servers will require restarts to complete the upgrade. All BB9.1 applications servers will be unavailable during the maintenance window.

When: 5:00 am – 6:00 am Affected Services: Owlapp Affected Systems: Owlapp1 and Owlapp2 Description of Maintenance: We will be updating the admin interface for Owlapp to improve usability. There should be no down time during this change and there are no business logic changes.

Resolved – Cut Fiber-optic cable on campus – Damage not service affecting Jade will repair during normal business hours.

We have received a report that a fiber-optic cable has been cut on campus. The cable is located North of the Memory and Wellness center on the East side of the road. Jade Communications has been contacted and is arriving to fix the cut cable. At this time there is no ETR for this issue but this notice will be updated when additional information is received.

Completed – Middleware: Talisma Unavailable from 10:30 am – noon

The Talisma servers used by Undergraduate Admissions will be unavailable between 10:30 am and 12 noon.

During this period we will be applying 3 vendor supplied patches to correct a critical problem that prevents the sending of outbound emails. No other systems will be affected by this downtime.

Banner Student – DARS Degree audit reporting system:

The issue has been resolved and the instance is currently available

Self Service will be down for 10 minutes at 6:00 am to apply some patches.

When: 3:00 AM – 3:30 AM Affected Services: SharePoint Project Server Affected Systems: Spwfe1 Spwfe2 Spapp1 Description of Maintenance: We will be applying service pack 1 for Project Server 2010

When: 3:00 am – 6:00 am Affected Services: Talisma 8.5 Application and Database Affected Systems: TALAPP01 and TALDB01 servers Description of Maintenance: The Talisma 8.5 SP2 will be upgraded to service pack 4. All users will be logged off by 3:00 am to start the upgrade. Both the application and database servers will be unavailable during the maintenance window

Update 2: Banner test system unavailable, 7/12/2011

The Banner test system is now available again.

The system has run into a known operating system bug.  A fix is available and will be applied at 6pm tonight and is estimated to take 20-30 minutes.

The Banner test system is currently unavailable.  The problem is being looked into with no ETA available at this time.
