OIT Systems Maintenance, Feb. 14 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 02/14/2019 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window.  In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Mailing list DMARC change
Description of change: OIT will be making a change in Sympa to not be rejected for failing DMARC checks
Downtime window start: 5:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services: Sympa/mailing lists​
Affected systems: lists.fau.edu​
Expected End-user impact: During this time, outbound list messages set to go out during the downtime will be delayed until after the mailing list restarts. The expected downtime is between 2-5 minutes.

Form Server Patch
Description of change: OIT will be updating the form server to patch bugs and reported issues.
Downtime window start: 4:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services: Frevvo, forms.fau.edu​, Admissions applications
Affected systems: boc22frevvo1.fau.edu​
Expected End-user impact: During this time, the form server that provides many automated forms will be offline for about 10 – 15 minutes. ​

Server Maintenance – Retirement of old Luminus MyFAU portal
Description of change: OIT will be shutting down services that were responsible for the old Luminis MyFAU portal
Downtime window start: 5:00 AM
Downtime window end: 5:30 AM
OIT Units involved in the change systems
Affected services: Old MyFAU portal and any web services that relied on it for authentication.
Affected systems: Luminus, mcportals
Expected End-user impact: During this time, no end-user impact is expected. All services relying on the old portal should have been migrated away already as part of other projects and change notices.

Description of change: OIT will be upgrading and patching services related to account management related to HIPAA user roles. ​

WebEx Degraded performance

Currently, Webex is experiencing degraded performance that may prevent users from creating or joining meetings.  This issue affects both the stand-alone and canvas implementations (aka MEETS for WebEx).  WebEx engineers are aware and are current investigating the problem.  OIT will monitor the situation and update the University community as the situation evolves.

Mediasite maintenance – 1/31/2019

As part of their recovery efforts from this past weekend’s outage, Sonic foundry will be re-indexing FAU’s Mediasite site beginning 12AM 1/31/2019.

During this time, search based catalogs (which includes the majority of lecture capture classes), may show no content.  This is temporary and the presentations will automatically re-appear when the process is complete.  This process is scheduled to take a several hours and should be completed by 6AM 1/31/2019

Description of change: OIT will be implementing a fix for the PaperCut service in the Library.
Downtime window start: 4:00 AM
Downtime window end: 4:30 AM
Affected services: PaperCut printing.

Expected End-user impact: During this time, users will not be able to print via PaperCut​.

Undergraduate Admissions Updates
Description of change: A series of enhancements and updates are being requested from the Undergraduate Admissions team. These updates have been deployed in Test as of November 27th, and are being testing and verified by the UG Admissions team.  The enhancements include:  Add SAT subScores to Undergraduate Application; Add WHC interest question; Post Secondary Bug Fix; FUTURE PLANS: change wording, add MDC; Fix International Numbers. Not all changes have been approved and some will be deployed during regular hours as they do not impact the application in terms of availability or downtime.

Banner Maintenance
Description of change: OIT will be upgrading or patching the BANNER XE system with 20 different releases during the FAUP maintenance window on Thursday, January 31, 2019.
There are 21 Harvest packages over 17 TD Incident numbers but the DBAs have reviewed the list and have determined that all of these items can be installed within the timeframe allotted for the FAUP maintenance window.

Downtime window end: 7:00 AM
Affected services: No service impact expected
Affected systems: BANNER XE
Expected End-user impact: During this time, no end-user impact is expected.

[RESOLVED] Mediasite Service Disruption

Cloud services have been restored, and at this time we do not anticipate any further disruptions

Restoration of the services did require restoring from a prior database backup for the site.  You may need to re-publish MDR recordings made in the last 48 hours that are missing.
