Issues with DUO multi-factor authentication

OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. Dec 16 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 12/16/2021 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. Banner Accounts Receivable Maintenance
Description of change: ​​​​Banner will be undergoing maintenance to upgrade the Accounts Receivable 8X/XE modules. We will also be including items for the Financial Aid 8X/XE module.
Downtime window start: 12/16/2021 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 12/16/2021 7:00 AM
Affected services: ​​​​BANNER 8X/XE Accounts Receivable modules, ​BANNER 8X/XE General modules, ​​BANNER 8X/XE Web Tailor/Web General modules, ​​BANNER 8X/XE Financial Aid modules
Expected End-user impact: ​​​The Banner system will be brought down during the actual installation of the new release code.

Network maintenance on December 22 at 5:00 am

OIT will be performing upgrades and enhancements to the FAU network between 5:00 am and 7:00 am on December the 22nd.  During the maintenance window, Internet traffic will be automatically rerouted.

Mediasite upgrade

Mediasite will be upgraded to version 8 on December 18th. Mediasite may be unavailable periodically during the maintenance window (Saturday, Dec 18, 1AM-6AM). After, Mediasite Desktop Recorder will be retired. All Mediasite users must download the Mosaic application in order to use the new platform. We encourage you to check out the Instructional Technologies Blog.

[RESOLVED] AWS issues affecting Canvas

Current disruptions with Amazon Web Services (AWS) are impacting Canvas and related tools, causing them to be slow or inaccessible. We are currently monitoring the situation and will provide updates as we receive them. 

Tools that may be temporarily inaccessible or slow include:

  • Achieve (Macmillan)
  • iClicker
  • Honorlock
  • Lockdown Browser (Respondus)
  • Pearson MyLab & other systems
  • TopHat

Research Informatics Core Missing Files

Several users have reported missing files on the Research Informatics Core. We have determined the issue and resolved it. We are restoring any missing files from our early morning backups. If you are still missing files on Monday morning please contact your local administration team and we will investigate further.

[NETWORK MAINTENANCE] Boca Raton Campus – Tuesday December 7th from 12:00 a.m. until 3:00 a.m.

OIT will be performing network maintenance on the Boca Raton campus from 12:00 a.m. until 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 7th. During this time, there will be a series of short network disruptions affecting connectivity on the Boca Raton campus including access to servers and the internet.​ This is rescheduled maintenance that was previously scheduled for Sunday December 5th.

Email Filtering Configuration Change
Description of change: ​OIT will be making a change to the types of attachments allowed in Office 365 emails.
Downtime window start 12/2/2021 8:00 AM
Downtime window end 12/2/2021 8:00 AM
Affected services: Office 365 email
Expected End-user impact: End users will be unable to send and receive emails with attachments that contain executable files. A list of file extensions that will be quarantined is attached.​ Internal users who attempt to send an email with an attachment listed will also get an email notification that message has been quarantined.
