OIT Maintenance Notification – July 7–15, 2026

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) will be performing routine systems maintenance, including but not limited to server reboots, security updates, configuration changes, and infrastructure upgrades during approved maintenance windows. The following systems and services may be impacted:


OWLDone and SPOT Server Maintenance

Description of Change:
OIT will be performing server maintenance that will require downtime for OWLDone and SPOT.

Change Window Start: July 7, 2026, 10:00 PM
Change Window End: July 8, 2026, 12:00 AM

Affected Services:

  • OWLDone
  • SPOT

Expected End-User Impact:
Faculty and students may be unable to access OWLDone and SPOT during the maintenance window.


Banner Access Management Maintenance

Description of Change:
OIT will be making configuration changes to Banner Access Management and related database tables.

Change Window Start: July 7, 2026, 5:00 PM
Change Window End: July 7, 2026, 6:00 PM

Affected Services:

  • Banner Access Management
  • Database tables GURUOBJ and GURUCLS

Expected End-User Impact:
No end-user impact is anticipated.


Enterprise Systems Server Maintenance

Description of Change:
OIT will be performing server maintenance affecting several enterprise applications and services. Some applications may experience intermittent outages while UAchieve will be unavailable.

Description of Change:
OIT will be performing scheduled maintenance on Banner.

Change Window End: July 9, 2026, 7:00 AM

  • Banner Self-Service

Expected End-User Impact:
Banner Admin and Banner Self-Service will be unavailable during the maintenance window.


Server Security Maintenance

Description of Change:
OIT will be applying incremental security updates to several web servers.

Wireless Authentication Changes – Jupiter and Harbor Branch

Description of Change:
OIT will be updating the authentication method for the eduroam and WPA2 wireless networks.

Change Window End: July 9, 2026, 7:00 AM

Affected Services:

  • eduroam wireless network
  • WPA2 wireless network

Expected End-User Impact:
Users may be prompted to re-authenticate their wireless devices.


Banner Database Account Maintenance

Description of Change:
Several Banner database accounts will be temporarily disabled as part of maintenance activities and subsequently re-enabled.

Change Window End: July 9, 2026, 11:00 AM

Affected Services:

  • Applications and integrations utilizing affected Banner database accounts

Expected End-User Impact:
Integrations or applications using the affected accounts may experience temporary interruptions until the accounts are restored.


Desktop Access Changes – Administrative Departments

Description of Change:
OIT will be implementing desktop access changes for select administrative departments, including the removal of the Duo login window at Windows sign-in and requiring FAU VPN access for remote connections.

Identity Management System Replacement- Temporary Service Interruption- TOMORROW 3/11 4AM

We will begin the planned replacement of our Identity Management System at 4 AM tomorrow, March 11th. 

During this period, services such as account provisioning, account changes, and password synchronization will be temporarily unavailable.

Authentication for existing accounts should not be affected and will continue to function as usual. 

We will update you as soon as all services are fully restored.

[RESOLVED] Issues with Single-Sign On Test (SSOT)

Update: The issue with SSOT has been resolved and services have been restored to full functionality.

We have identified a possible issue with Single-Sign On TEST (SSOT). We are actively working to identify the root cause and restore full functionality as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

UPDATE: Single-Sign On Test Unavailable

At this time Single Sign-on Test (SSOT) is functioning and users should be able to sign-in to TEST systems. We are currently monitoring the situation and will update if it changes.

[RESOLVED]AT&T users may experience issues accessing Single Sign On and Office 365

Microsoft has confirmed an outage which is impacting AT&T users. If connected to AT&T, you may experience issues accessing FAU sites that use Single Sign-On, or any Microsoft Office 365 application.

OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. April 4 from 12:01 AM to 7:00 AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 04/04/2024 from 12:01 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Description of change: OIT will be performing Banner Appworx maintenance and Appworx will be unavailable during the period.

Description of change: OIT is making some improvements to enhance security to the main FAU website www.fau.edu

Workday update
Description of change: OIT is implementing a process to import Banner course sections into Workday as period activity tasks, which assists in BOG reporting related to period activity pays.

The TouchNet payment processing system will be undergoing maintenance -Starting from 2:00am to 6:00am (EST) Friday, December 15th. This affects student payment services (Bill+Payment), as well as all Marketplace Stores, uPay sites and TouchNet ready partner payment services. We expect all systems to be back online no later than 7:00 am (EST) that morning. When the system is back up and ready to go, we will notify you. You may wish to place warnings on your website, or take your store offline.
