Description of Maintenance: The new Blackboard Linux servers will replace the Solaris servers. Brief periods of downtime are expected.

Friday August 12th the Networking department will replace the 3rd floor switch gear. Only the 3rd floor of the building will be affected. Start time 6:00am and estimated completion time is 5:00pm.
IRM will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deem necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday,08/11/2011 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during IRM maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Description of Maintenance: The new Blackboard Linux servers will be connected to the Blackboard cluster. No downtime expected.
Network upgrades to cause service outages during the semester break (Monday, August 15 through Friday, August 19, 2011.)
Beginning on Monday, August 15, 2011, IRM will start upgrading the networking infrastructure to implement several hardware and software upgrades. This upgrade will cause intermittent interruptions to the network and telephone systems across all FAU campus locations during the implementation and testing of the new software. IRM will begin testing the network and telephone services on Monday, August 15 between 12:01 am and 7:00 am. If necessary, testing will continue on Tuesday, August 16, Wednesday, August 17, and Friday, August 19, between 12:01 am and 7:00 am.

The SafeAssign service in Blackboard will be unavailable on Saturday, August 13 from 8:00am-12:00pm due to system maintenance. Users will not be able to submit papers through SafeAssign during the planned downtime and will receive an error message if they attempt to do so. SafeAssign Originality Reports will not be available to Instructors or Students during the planned downtime, nor will Instructors be able to access SafeAssign DirectSubmit.
