We are currently experiencing a problem with Xpressions, we have escalated this to the vendor.
carrier outage to remote FAU campus locations
At 11:47 AM today, (9/21/2011) the FAU network experienced a 60 second drop in the Metro Ethernet connectivity to all of the campus locations. Full connectivity has been restored and we are working with the carrier to determine the reason for the drop in service.

Completed – IRM Systems Maintenance, Thurs. Sept 22 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM
Completed – IRM will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deem necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 0//2011 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during IRM maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:
When: 3:00 AM – 4:00 AM Affected Service: Identity Manager Affected Systems: idm1, idm2, idm3p, idm4p Description of Maintenance: Converting the Active Directory connector in IDM to the Exchange connector to prepare for Exchange mailbox creations. Service Interruption: No, there is no expected impact on service.
When: 3:00 AM – 6:00 AM Affected Service: Network Registration – DHCP – Boca Raton Affected Systems: dhcpboc0, dhcpboc1 Description of Maintenance: Migrating Middleware’s Boca Raton DHCP servers from Red Hat Linux 5 to Scientific Linux 6. Service Interruption: Yes, new DHCP leases at Boca Raton campus will not be provided at intervals during maintenance window.
Password Sync Disruption
User Services has discovered that user’s Active Directory display name updates when users change their password. As this is a major problem we will be applying a fix at 1pm. We do not expect any downtime regard password synchronization or account provisioning.
MyLabsPlus Maintenance
MyLabsPlus will be unavailable on Friday September 23rd, from 2:00 am to 6:00 am. This maintenance has been scheduled so that Pearson’s team of engineers can continue to improve the reliability and scalability of their online course delivery system.
Blackboard issue
Good morning, an issue with one Blackboard portal was reported and we have taken it offline to prevent users from experiencing difficulty. We will update this notification at 1pm.
1:20pm: We have no new information at this time.
3:24pm: We have duplicated the problem and are working on a solution. Users are not affected with by the problem at this time.
Phone Mail Upgrade Monday, Sept. 19
Communication Services Infrastructure will be replacing Phonemail on all FAU campuses with the Xpressions voicemail system on Monday, Sept. 19. If you are already using the new Xpressions voicemail system you may disregard this message.
The timeline on Sept. 19 is as follows: 4 p.m. All messages in Phonemail will be deleted. This includes messages that have been saved and/or not listened to. It is strongly recommended that you review all messages before 4 p.m. as deleted messages cannot be retrieved. Please see “Saying Goodbye to Phonemail” below for details. 4 p.m. to Midnight The system will be disconnected and all information you have not retrieved will be lost. No new messages will be accepted.
Saying Goodbye to Phonemail If you are accessing Phonemail from your desk, your existing access process applies. If you are using any other FAU telephone: 1. Dial 7-MAIL (7.6245) 2. Enter your extension and press # 3. Enter your password and press # 4. Press 3 to listen to your messages. 5. Write down or record any details you need to keep before all messages are permanently deleted.

Video Conference Systems Upgrade 7/22/11
Video conferencing services are having security changes made to the video conferencing networks on Friday September 16, 2011 at 4:30 pm. This includes any videoconference classroom, conference room, auditorium, and desktop MOVI accounts located on all FAU campuses.
We will be performing a planned system upgrade and system testing. We do not anticipate any downtime in this upgrade but please call 561-297-3110 for issues.
