Blackboard portal issues (1 Portal)

One of the Blackboard portals has experienced a failure.  We are removing it from the Blackboard cluster and investigating.

The problem began at approximately 2:05pm.

Users on the portal may have experienced some errors on Blackboard or potentially been logged out of their session.

We will update with more information.

Completed – IRM Systems Maintenance, Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

IRM will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deem necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 09/08/2011 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during IRM maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

When: 3:00 AM – 4:00 AM
Affected Service: sso.fau.edu
Affected Systems: cas0p.fau.edu, cas1p.fau.edu, sso.fau.edu, E-College Logins, and Help Desk Logins.
Description of Maintenance: Update CAS login screen to introduce new images, CAS will be offline for a brief period of time during the update.
Service Interruption: Yes, intermittent periods.

When: 3:00 AM – 4:00 AM
Affected Service: Blackboard
Affected Systems: bbm1, bba1, bba2, bba3, bba4, bba5, bba6, bbc1, bbc2, bbx1, bbx2,bb.fau.edu, blackboard.fau.edu
Description of Maintenance: Apply a patch which prevents an access denied message when students submit an exam question prior to blackboards automatic save process completing.
Service Interruption: Yes, intermittent periods.

When: 3:00 AM – 6:00 AM
Affected Service: Account Provisioning, MyFAU, Active Directory
Affected Systems: idm.fau.edu, idm1.fau.edu, idm2.fau.edu, idm3p.fau.edu, idm4p.fau.edu
Description of Maintenance: Identity Manager will begin provisioning Active Directory Accounts, there will be no down time.
Service Interruption: No

When: 3:00 AM – 5:00 AM
Affected Service: Network Registration
Affected Systems: dhcpboc0, dhcpboc1
Description of Maintenance: The DHCP logger has been creating a high CPU load on the network registration servers. We will be updating the method used to submit SQL to the server which will eliminate the problem. While we are updating the logger no MAC addresses will automatically be collected by the registration system.
Service Interruption: Yes, intermittent periods

When: 3:00 AM – 7:00 AM
Affected Service: Banner (FAUP)
Affected Systems: bannerprd
Description of Maintenance: Banner General 8.4.2 upgrade
Service Interruption: No interruption unless a user has locked one of the tables to be upgraded. Then that user will be terminated.
