One of the Blackboard Collaboration servers (BBC1) became unresponsive at approximately 4:11pm today. It has been restarted and Collaboration has resumed proper operation.
Fileserver maintenance
IRM BROWARD will be performing routine systems maintenance, which includes, but is not limited to, rebooting Windows servers, as deemed necessary, installing critical patches, upgrading file services and other health checks on November 20, 2011, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:
When: 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM Affected Services: Broward File Services, Broward display software, Broward DFS File Services Affected Systems: brwsrvn01 Description of Maintenance: We will be upgrading DFS links and moving links to a new vm server instance. Service Interruption: Yes, service will be offline for approximately 8 hours.
Update – Banner SSB unavailable
Banner self-service is now available. However, the user experience is not optimal due to an extremely high load on the system. We are continuously monitoring the system and will post another update when information becomes available.

[Update] Blackboard (BBA1) Portal Status
We have brought BBA1 back online but have not enabled it on the proxy servers. Our team will meet first thing this morning to review our monitoring server reports and verify that BBA1 is working as intended before enabling it on the proxy servers.
Currently Blackboard is running on five of six possible portals and is not experiencing any significant load.
Blackboard (BBA1) Portal Experiencing Issues
BBA1.fau.edu is experiencing issues accepting clients, it has been disabled via the Proxy Manager. BBA2 – BBA6 are not experiencing any issues at the moment. Before BBA1 was disabled from the Proxy Manager it was verified that no active connections were present.
We will investigate and keep BBA1 inaccessible until we now it is fully functional.
