Description of Maintenance: Update SSL cert for third party SMS service​. This should resolve an issue we are seeing with users unble to reset their passwords using SMS password reset feature.
User Impact: ​Users may not be able to change their password during the restart process.

Description of maintenance: The ESS needs to have its SAN addresses changed ahead of the switch over for Oct 10. This will require a system restart.​
User impact: Playback of Echo360 content will be briefly interupted and unavailable while the system restarts.​

[COMPLETED] TouchNet Payment Processing System – Maintenance, Wed. Sept. 21 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

UPDATE – 9/21/2016

TouchNet maintenance has completed successfully. All systems are back online and operating as expected.

Move student home folder path (M: drive) and change network share drive mapping method
When:  3:00AM – 7:00AM
Affected services:   home folders for students (M: drive)​ and drive mappings for all users
Affected systems:  fauandi1, idm, bocdcirm01
Description of maintenance:  OIT will be changing the location of the student home folder (M: drive). The path will change from \\fauandi1.fau.edu\student$\faunetid to \\fauandi1.fau.edu\home$\faunetid​.
Additionally all network shares will be mapped via Group Policy Preferences for all users instead of logon script + AD homedirectory attribute

User impact:  If mapping a student’s home folder manually the path will now be \\fauandi1.fau.edu\home$\faunetid

Description of maintenance: Our current BigIP load balancers are being upgraded, so we are moving secure websites hosted by the old ones to the new ones.
User impact: Users may not be able to certain websites during maintenance.

Affected services: Any service that requires mysql01 database access.  These include, but may not be limited to: Jira, Confluence, various web apps all over www.fau.edu and various application servers.

Description of maintenance:  The data storage for the mysql01 database is being upgraded​
User impact: Users will not be able to connect to Jira, confluence, or use some web applications that are MySQL based.

Removal of support for old ssl ciphers on BigIP virtual servers
When: 5:00AM – 6:00AM
Affected services: All services served by virtual servers hosted by the BigIP load balancers.  These include but may not be limited to: Blackboard, Owlapp, SSO, Papercut, SAS, MyFAU, Banner, Talisma, oud, www, Filelocker, ds/ldap, DMZ entry point for various ColdFusion apps, tms, SCTforms, etc.
Affected systems: ​bigip load balancers
Description of maintenance: We are making improvements to the security of secure websites (HTTPS only!)  that are hosted by the BigIP load balancers
User impact: No end user impact is expected as long as their web browsers / clients are reasonably new enough.   If their client is too old, they will get an SSL handshake failure and they will not be able to load the secure website.
If these users have a valid reason for maintaining their old clients, we can consider making an exception for that particular bigip virtual server.

Talisma Upgrade 10.X – 8/19/16 – 8/22/16

OIT will be upgrading the Talisma CRM system from version 8.6 to 10.x starting on Friday, August 19 at 7:00PM. The estimated completion time for the upgrade is set for Monday, August 22 at 7:00AM.

Talisma CRM will be unavailable during this time.

[RESOLVED] Online Helpdesk System Unavailable

The issue has been resolved and the Online help desk system is back online.

Affected services: All file shares on fauandi1 and fauandi2
Affected systems: fauandi1, fauandi2
Description of maintenance: OIT will be migrating the fauandi1 and fauandi2 file servers to new hardware.​​
User impact: Existing mapped network drives pointing at fauandi1 and fauandi2 may become unmapped. Logging off and back on will map the drives again.
