RESOLVED – Exchange Email Issues on Tablets and Phones

9:49AM  – UPDATE:  Mobile services have now been restored and tables and phones should be able to connect to Exchange.

Tablets and Phones are currently unable to to connect to the Exchange server to access Email.  OIT is working on a solution to this issue but do not have an ETA. It is expected that the issues will persist through much of Monday. As a work around, users can access the Exchange server using a web browser and visiting https://mail.fau.edu

Resolved – Widespread system outages affecting Blackboard and other services

Due to hardware failures, several services are currently experiencing outages.  The systems include:

Blackboard

Xitracs

Network Registration

Possible internet connectivity (DNS)

Central Authentication System and services depending on it.

 

OIT is aware of the issue and is working to restore service as soon as possible.

[Resolved] Blackboard Performance Issue

OIT Staff have made adjustments to the Blackboard servers and the performance issue appears to be resolved at this time.

Blackboard Performance Issue

Users logging into Blackboard may experience long loading times when accessing the “Courses” tab.  OIT staff is currently investigating the issue.

Update: Virus Outbreak – Shared Drives Are Available Read-only

Shared drives including Q:, N:, O:, P: and special drives are now available in a read-only state. OIT has cleaned up the virus infections from the shared drives. However, while OIT works to finish containing the virus and starting the rebuild process on any affected desktops, users will not be able to make changes or place any new files on the shared drives. Users can access the files that were available when access to the shared drives was removed yesterday.  You may need to log off and log back on to your computer to be able to access the shared drives. OIT is working to restore full access to the shared drives as soon as possible.

Emergency Exchange Maintenance Scheduled Wednesday January 9th from 6:00a.m. until 6:30a.m.

OIT will be performing maintenance to the Exchange email systems between 6:00a.m. and 6:30a.m. tomorrow morning. During the maintenance, Exchange may be briefly unavailable at times. These changes are expected to resolve widespread reports of slowness and freezes among Exchange users.

[Completed] Emergency Network Maintenance Scheduled Tuesday January 8th from 5:00 a.m. untill 5:30 a.m.

The emergency network maintenance scheduled this morning has been completed. All services are expected to be functioning normally at this time.

Emergency Network Maintenance Scheduled Tuesday January 8th from 5:00 a.m. till 5:30 a.m.

Communication Infrastructure will be performing network maintenance tomorrow morning from 5:00 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. to replace a piece of network equipment that failed at 9:30 this morning. Network connectivity within FAU and to the Internet will be unavailable while the hardware is replaced.

Network Issues – Building 22

Building 22 is experiencing some network issues. These network issues are affecting connectivity to many services including VPN and Exchange email.  Network technicians are onsite and looking into the issue.
