OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs, May 31, 2012 from 3:00am to 7:00am

The Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 05/31/2012 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window.  In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

When: Wednesday May 30th 2012, 3:00 am – 5:00 am
Affected services: Microsoft Exchange
Affected systems:  Microsoft Exchange Cluster
Description of maintenance: Part one of the Exchange 2012 to Exchange 2012 SP2 upgrade. Systems will be upgrading the inactive Exchange servers from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2010 SP2
User impact: None

 

When: Wednesday May 30th 2012, 3:00 am – 5:00 am
Affected services:  Microsoft Exchange
Affected systems:  Microsoft Exchange Cluster
Description of maintenance: Part two of Exchange 2012 to Exchange 2012 SP2 upgrade. Systems will first move all users to the machines upgraded on Wednesday Morning and then proceed with upgrading the remaining servers to Exchange 2010 SP2.
User impact: None

Identity Manager and Password Sync

Identity Manager and Password Sync are currently offline due to the earlier network maintenance. We are restarting the systems and service will be restored momentarily.

ePrint errors

Some users may experience difficulty accessing ePrint. We have contacted the vendor and are investigating the problem.

[Resolved] Blackboard and SSO.fau.edu login issues

A directory server that provided authentication to Blackboard, Owl Apps and SSO.fau.edu failed last night and users may have experienced difficulty logging into Blackboard, Owl Apps and SSO.fau.edu between 4am and 5:45am this morning.

At this time everything should be working 100%

Blackboard will be unavailable from 3am – 6am Thursday January 19th while we perform preventative maintenance.

Blackboard Upgrade

Blackboard will be UNAVAILABLE  from 11:00 pm December 18th  until 6:00 am December 19th while the database is upgraded.

Please be aware that Blackboard will UNAVAILABLE during this upgrade.

Identity Manager Partially Offline – Resolved

Identity Manager is currently partially offline due to an earlier failure in Active Directory. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Resolved: Single Blackboard portal failure

One member of the Blackboard cluster failed yesterday at 6:30 pm and was returned to service at 8 pm. Users should not have been affected by the outage.

Update ePrint to require https

Starting Sunday November 20th users accessing ePrint from their web browsers will automatically be redirected from http://eprint.fau.edu to https://eprint.fau.edu.

This very important change should not cause users any issues, but will help to protect our client’s vital information. Thank you for your understanding as we attempt to improve the security and reliability of this critical service.

Resolved: ePrint offline

At 8:21 am we were informed that the ePrint web server was unavailable. We have restarted the service and it is now online. We will be investigating why this problem has occurred.
