Network Maintenance Bldg. 53 (Visual Arts) 03/07/2012
Networking will be upgrading the network equipment in building 53 (Visual Arts) during the maintenance window 5:00am to 7:00am Wednesday 03/07/2012. No service outage during normal business hours is expected.

Network and Telecom – Network Maintenance Monday 2:00a.m to 6:00a.m.
IRM will be performing maintenance on firewall hardware from 2:00a.m to 6:00a.m. this Monday morning. During this time, access to the internet from FAU’s campuses may be briefly interrupted in addition to intermittent interruptions in access to wired dorm networks, wireless, new pre-production Banner servers, College of Science and Engineering, Culture and Society, and Echo recordings.
Additional maintenance is scheduled for Wednesday morning. A separate notification will be sent out regarding that maintenance window.

[UPDATED] OIT Systems Maintenance, 2/9/2012 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM
IRM will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 02/09/2012 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during IRM maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:
When: 4:00AM – 6:00AM
Affected Services: Event Management System (EMS)
Affected Systems: Event Management System (EMS)
Description of Maintenance: Upgrade the EMS system with released patches, insert all buildings and rooms in the university as defined by OSUA, and increase security for associated websites by enforcing SSL to securing logins
User impact: EMS, Master Calendar, EmsWebClient, and VirtualEMS will be unavailable during this period
User Notifications: EMS users have been notified via email
When: 5:00 am – 7:00 AM
Affected Service: Blackboard
Affected Servers: Bba1-6, bbm1, bbc1, bbc2
Description of Maintenance: We will be applying a security patch to the black board servers.
User Impact: Minimal, down time is expected, maybe 5 to 10 minutes.
Notification: Users will be redirected to wordpress.fau.edu/irm/ and notification is being add within Blackboard.
When: 3:00AM – 6:00AM
Affected Service: Graduate College Admissions Application
Affected Servers: owlapp.fau.edu, owlapp1.fau.edu, owlapp2.fau.edu
Description of Maintenance: Due to a security fix in Internet Explorer we need to upgrade a component of the admissions application.
User Impact: The service will be offline between 3am and 6am.
Notification: Requests will be redirected to wordpress.fau.edu/irm/

[Resolved] Blackboard and SSO.fau.edu login issues
A directory server that provided authentication to Blackboard, Owl Apps and SSO.fau.edu failed last night and users may have experienced difficulty logging into Blackboard, Owl Apps and SSO.fau.edu between 4am and 5:45am this morning.
At this time everything should be working 100%

Firewall Reboot tomorrow 2/3/2012 at 5am
Network: Firewall Reboot tomorrow 2/3/2012 at 5am
We need to reboot the edge firewall tomorrow morning. We will start the reboot at 5am. It should just take a few minutes.
This will affect Internet access for the minutes the firewall takes to boot.

Blackboard Wiki Issue
During our System Maintenance the Wiki tool had to be reinstalled. The Wiki tool is working fine and no data was lost, but it appears that some Course and Tool Links to the Wikis area may have been broken. Links may need to be deleted and recreated in those cases.

ePrint temporarily unavailable [resolved]
We have experienced an issue where eprint.fau.edu exhausted its’ memory and necessitated a reboot. The system has returned to service now. We apologize for the inconvenience.
