Network Maintenance – Jupiter Campus 8/4 5:30am – 6:30am

OIT will be performing network maintenance in Jupiter on Friday, August 4 from 05:30 a.m. until 6:30 a.m. Due to the nature of the maintenance, users may experience an intermittent network outage lasting approximately 5 minutes during this window. OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. July 20, from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 07/20/2017 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window.  In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Application maintenance – Single Sign On Upgrade
Description of change:  The single-sign on system used by most FAU users when logging into websites will be upgraded to provide an improved user experience.
Downtime window start: 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 7:00 AM
Affected services:  Single Sign On, Canvas, Banner, Workday, and all web based applications using Single Sign On
Affected systems:  BigIP, shibboleth1p.fau.edu, shibboleth2p.fau.edu
Expected End-user impact:  During this time, no downtime with single-sign on is expected.

Server Maintenance  – cuttlefish server migration
Description of change:  We are moving the server named cuttlefish to a different network more suited for its use.​
Downtime window start: 5:30 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services:  nagios, logins to other boxes, various scripts
Affected systems: cuttlefish, nautilus​
Expected End-user impact:  During this time, OIT internal users who rely on cuttlefish will probably experience various connection issues as overlooked firewall issues may need to be resolved throughout the day.   The Opsview nagios interface that user services and operations rely on for system and network status may be awry as well.​

Description of change: OIT is upgrading the BHRIC Storage cluster

Affected systems: boc22-em, boc22-s-compellent-1, boc22-s-compellent-2
Expected End-user impact:  During this time no end-user impact is expected.

Description of change:  OIT will be performing patches to the Banner system to provide up-to-date functionality in Banner 8 and additional supporting infrastructure for Banner XE
Downtime window start: 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 7:00 AM
Affected services:  Banner INB will be unavailable for a brief period of time during the installation of the two upgrades but the effects on the user population should be minimized because it will take place during the maintenance window at which time Banner accessibility is usually diminished
Affected systems: Banner 8 General module in production, ​Banner 8 Student module in production
Expected End-user impact:  ​During this time, Banner INB will be unavailable for a brief moment
