Network Maintenance Tuesday September 11 5:00a-6:30a
Communication Infrastructure will be performing emergency network maintenance tomorrow morning from 5:00a.m.-6:30a.m. During this time, network connectivity within the university and to the internet may be interrupted intermittently. The purpose of this maintenance is to install a patch provided by our vendor that they believe will resolve the network and internet reliability issues encountered the past week.

The SMTP server smtpsec will be unavailable due to maintenance. Users who have email clients configured with smtpsec will not be able to send during this time.

RESOLVED: CMS unavailable for website updates
The CMS is once again available and is successfully publishing updates.
The vendor had an outage that took longer to recover than anticipated. We regret any inconveniences this may have caused.

CMS unavailable for website updates
The Omniupdate Content Management System (CMS) is currently unreachable. We have contacted the vendor and will place an update as soon as we know more.
The FAU website is functional. This only affects users trying to make updates to their websites.

Firewall maintenance
Maintenance to the University firewalls is scheduled for Tuesday 9/3/2012 from 1:00AM to 7:00AM. Loss of connectivity to the Banner systems and their peripherals including AppWorx may occur during this time.

OIT Systems Maintenance, 8/23/2012 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM
Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 08/23/2012 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:
When: 3:00AM to 4:00AM
Affected services: Blackboard
Affected systems: Blackboard
Description of maintenance: Apply emergency patch to remedy courses with a large content area to throw an array index out of bound exception and making the course unable to be used. The secondary patch is for a search query optimization
User impact: Blackboard will not be available between 3:00AM and 4:00AM
When: 8/23/2012 5:00 AM – 5:30 AM
Affected Services: irm.ad.fau.edu and ad.fau.edu boca domain controllers
Affected Systems: bocdcirm01, bocdcirm02, bocdcfau02
Description of Maintenance: A patch that will be installed to correct a problem with the KMS service not accepting a Server 2012 and Windows 8 volume license.
User impact: None expected, staggered reboots, unless a user tries to authenticate on during a reboot of each server.

Banner General & Web General upgrade
The Banner General 8.5.1 & Web General 8.5.0/8.5.1 upgrades have been rescheduled for Tuesday 8/28/2012 from 3:00am to 7:00am.
