IRM will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 02/09/2012 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during IRM maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:
When: 4:00AM – 6:00AM
Affected Services: Event Management System (EMS)
Affected Systems: Event Management System (EMS)
Description of Maintenance: Upgrade the EMS system with released patches, insert all buildings and rooms in the university as defined by OSUA, and increase security for associated websites by enforcing SSL to securing logins
User impact: EMS, Master Calendar, EmsWebClient, and VirtualEMS will be unavailable during this period
User Notifications: EMS users have been notified via email
When: 5:00 am – 7:00 AM
Affected Service: Blackboard
Affected Servers: Bba1-6, bbm1, bbc1, bbc2
Description of Maintenance: We will be applying a security patch to the black board servers.
User Impact: Minimal, down time is expected, maybe 5 to 10 minutes.
Notification: Users will be redirected to wordpress.fau.edu/irm/ and notification is being add within Blackboard.
When: 3:00AM – 6:00AM
Affected Service: Graduate College Admissions Application
Affected Servers: owlapp.fau.edu, owlapp1.fau.edu, owlapp2.fau.edu
Description of Maintenance: Due to a security fix in Internet Explorer we need to upgrade a component of the admissions application.
User Impact: The service will be offline between 3am and 6am.
Notification: Requests will be redirected to wordpress.fau.edu/irm/
[RESOLVED] Network Registration (Wired/Wireless) Experiencing Issue with New Clients
Network Registration is fully operational once again.
Approximately 71 clients were affected, they have been manually entered to provide access and will be properly entered later today.
We apologize for any interruption of service or inconvenience.
Telecom Xpressions (voicemail) COMPLETED
Telecom has completed maintenance on the Xpressions (voicemail) servers
Resolved-Network problem in bldg 84
The building 84 College of Nursing IT issue has been resolved and was determined to be not network related.
Network problem in Bldg. 84
@ 4:05 p.m. IRM Operations received a call about a unspecified network problem occurring in Bldg. 84.
Network on-call support technician was contacted and is currently working on the issue to resolve it.
FAU User services IRM Operations
Blackboard database unavailable 12-2am Wednesday, January 11
The Blackboard database was unavailable from approximately 12-2am on Wednesday, January 11. During that time users may have received intermittent error messages when trying to access files within their courses and in some cases may have been unable to log into Blackboard. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Network Outage Mostly Resolved
The network was upgraded this morning which caused some network outages. Most of the issues have been resolved. At this time, only wired network connections in the student housing buildings on the Boca Raton and Jupiter campuses are unavailable. We are continuing to work to resolve the issue and send an update 12:00 pm.
All the wireless networks are working including in student housing.
Network — network maintenance Tuesday 12/20 during maintenance window
Network – network maintenance Tuesday 12/20 between 6 and 7am for redundant fiber link to T6. No downtime is anticipated.
Blackboard Upgrade
Blackboard will be UNAVAILABLE from 11:00 pm December 18th until 6:00 am December 19th while the database is upgraded.
