The Network Registration host on the Jupiter campus is being migrated from VMWare ESXi to Microsoft Hyper-V.
When: 3:00am – 6:00am
Affected Services: DNS (131.91.124.48), Network registration, DHCP
Affected Systems: DNSjup1, dhcpjup1, ldapjup1
Description of Maintenance: This change plan encompasses several changes. First, the host operating system for the DNS, LDAP and DHCP servers at the Jupiter campus will be upgraded from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.7 (Oracle) to Scientific Linux 6. Second, the host Hypervisor will be upgraded from VMWare ESXi Free to Microsoft Hyper-V on the Jupiter Network Registration Host (vmwjup1). Third, the new DNS, LDAP and DHCP servers will be storage migrated from the staging server to the upgraded production server.
User impact: This will cause intermittent issues with DNS, DHCP and LDAP at Jupiter. However, systems with valid leases will automatically use the DNS server at PSL during this time.
Echo360 system maintenance is now complete.

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 05/03/2012 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. Description of Maintenance: Shut down and clone ldapboc1 for use as new ldapdav1 and ldapjup1.
User impact: Users should not experience any issues as ldapboc0 is main Directory Server used within Network Registration Boca.
