Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 02/16/2017 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window.  In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Affected services: Sign-on to all Office 365 services. Sign-on to College of  Business websites​

Description of maintenance: OIT will be migrating the ADFS 2.1 farm to ADFS 3.0​
User impact: Sign-on to Office 365 services may be intermittent during the window​

Migrate CoE SharePoint Sites to Office 365
When: 4:00AM – 5:00AM
Affected services: CoE site collection and any other subsites – https://sharepoint.fau.edu/coe/

Description of maintenance: ​We will be completing the migration of the College of Education’s SharePoint site to Office 365.
User impact: Users will need to update any bookmarks, saved links, and any calendars that point to https://sharepoint.fau.edu/coe/

Description of maintenance: We are continuing the move of servers from older bigip load balancer hardware to the new ones.  This move will be for the backend servers that support sharepoint
User impact: SharePoint may be unavailable for 5 minutes while DNS is updated​

Banner INB – Error message upon launch

During our regular OIT Maintenance window this morning, we installed a forms server patch in Banner INB that may produce an error for anyone launching Banner INB –  Error message: “FRM-92160: Fatal Error: web client version is too old.”

To resolve this issue you will need to clear your Java cache by following these steps:

To clear your Java cache in Windows:

  1. Click Start > Control Panel.
  2. Locate and double click the Java icon in the Control Panel.
  3. Click Settings under Temporary Internet Files.
  4. Click Delete Files.
  5. Select all boxes and click OK on Delete Temporary Files window.
  6. Click OK on Temporary Files Settings window.
  7. Click OK to close the Java Control Panel.

To clear your Java cache in Mac OS X:

  1. Double click your Mac hard drive.
  2. Double click Applications.
  3. Double click Utilities.
  4. Double click Java Preferences.
  5. Click the Network tab.
  6. Click the Delete Files… button.
  7. You are prompted to delete your temporary files for Java. Make sure all boxes are selected with check marks. Click OK.
  8. Close the Java Preferences window.

Description of maintenance: Apply Oracle patchset p16471668_111170_Linux-x86-64 to the production Banner INB forms servers.  This will upgrade Forms version from 11.1.1.6 to 11.1.1.7.
User impact: Banner INB (forms) will be unavailable during the downtime.​

Move root volumes to SATA
When: 4:00AM to 6:00AM
Affected services: N/A
Affected systems: ​IO might be slightly slowed down while the failover/failback occurs.
Description of maintenance: We need to move the root volumes on filers boc22naclm01n05/06 from SSD drives to SATA so we can use the SSDs for a flash pool. This requires that each filer be failed over and then rebooted.
User impact: ​There should be no impact to the end user.  It will be transparent to the user.
