Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 10/08/2015 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window.  In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

OIM Blackboard Connector Maintenance 
When: 5:00 – 6:00AM
Affected services: Oracle Identity Manager (OIM)
Affected systems: Blackboard, Oracle Identity Manager (OIM)
Description of maintenance: Changes will be made to the OIM database to correct issues that prevented name and username changes to some Blackboard accounts.
User impact: No end-user impact is expected.

OIM Match Resolution Manager Update (FuzzyMatching)
When: 5:00 – 5:15AM
Affected services: Oracle Identity Manager (OIM), including Accounts Self-Service and Claiming Interface​ and WorkdayRest listener
Affected systems: boc22oimp1, boc22oimp2​
Description of maintenance: Updating the Fuzzy Match Interface with many enhancements.
User impact: Any users attempting to claim their account during this period will not be able to access the accounts.fau.edu site.
Any Workday hires reaching the INT083A (Workday Hire JSON Post to OIM) will not reach the system.

Upgrade ODS to the new version ODS 8.5.1
When: 3:00AM – 7:00AM
Affected services: ODS production environment. Webfocus won’t be able to connect to the ODS database.
Affected systems: ​odsprod
Description of maintenance: OIT is upgrading the ODS version from 8.4.1 to 8.5.1
User impact: ​Affected services will be unavailable during the maintenance window.

Description of maintenance: OIT will be upgrading the SAS drive firmware on the NetApp filer bocana01.

Undeliverable Email Messages

Please note that email messages sent from FAU are currently being limited or blocked by other providers due to an increased number of compromised accounts. This results in some email messages coming back as “undeliverable”  or “delayed delivery.”

Unfortunately, at this time, the only thing we can do is to wait for the other providers to remove the block and/or limit.

Upgrade NTSHyperv01 from 2008r2 to 2012r2.

When: 3:00AM to 7:00AM
Affected services: Honors College Goldmine, MacArthur Campus admin suite file shares, LLS file shares, CES file shares, MacArthur Campus printing, Resource Mate.
Affected systems: ​NTSHyperv01, CES, LLSJupiter01, Kelly, Payton, Honors1, Honors4.
Description of maintenance: OIT is upgrading the host OS from 2008r2 to 2012r2. There will be 6 VMs affected by this upgrade.​
User impact: Majority of file shares for MacArthur campus will be offline. Majority of network printers will be offline. Goldmine will be offline. Resource Mate will be offline.

Active Directory placement of new accounts
When: 5:00AM – 6:00AM
Affected services: Active Directory, Waveset Identity Manager (IDM)
Affected systems:  ad.fau.edu, idm.fau.edu
Description of maintenance: OIT will begin to place new user accounts in the People OU in Active Directory. Existing accounts will remain in their current sub-organizations (Employee, Student, Courtesy) until later this months when we will begin to move all accounts.
User impact: None expected. Only new user accounts will be impacted by this change. These accounts will only be impacted if they are trying to access an application that is hardcoded to point to a specific OU in AD.

Remove changelog DB from MyFAU ldap server
When: 5:00AM – 5:30AM
Affected services: MyFAU, luminissync, password synchronizations​
Affected systems: MyFAU, password reset, OIM​
Description of maintenance:  OIT will remove the changelog database from MyFAU’s ldap server to improve stability of myfau’s directory server
User impact: Password resets will not synchronize and users will be unable to login to MyFAU while ldap is restarted.

Description of maintenance: Fix to correct classes missing from Blackboard after FAUNetID rename. Updating Blackboard OIM Connector version 1.1-SNAPSHOT​
Fixes an issue with renaming accounts. Username changes must also include a change to their UserBatchUid in blackboard.
User impact: No downtime is expected for this change

Description of maintenance: ​Install Banner Financial Aid 8.23.0.6 patch in production. This patch creates a critical report for the 2015/2016 Direct Loan Reconciliation process. The Financial Aid office has been waiting for this item to be released and they have requested that it be expedited into production.
User impact: No user downtime is anticipated
