[Completed] OwlDone Maintenance down from 10pm – 11pm on 3/15/18

The OwlDone Student Onboarding portal will be down from 10pm-11pm on 3/15/18 for a new feature implementation.

OmniUpdate currently unavailable [RESOLVED]

We are currently experiencing an “Account in Lockdown” error message in OU Campus  so all sites are temporarily unavailable.

The vendor is aware of the issue and is working to resolve it.

We will update this post as soon as we have more information.

UPDATE: The vendor informed us that this outage was due to some preliminary maintenance for preparing the OU Campus platform to be upgraded to v10.

UPDATE: This issue has been officially resolved; all OmniUpdate services have been restored.

[resolved] OmniUpdate CMS is experiencing slow response times

Issue message from the vendor: OmniUpdate and our OU Campus servers are currently being hit with a DDOS attack. We are working with our ISP to resolve this as soon as possible.

Solution message from vendor: Access to OU Campus servers has been restored. We are waiting on a report from our ISP on the specifics of the outage that occurred with our ISP from 7:30AM this morning until 9:15AM (PST).

Final Update from vendor ISP:

  • The outage this morning was not caused by what was preliminarily thought to be a DDoS attack on our ISP.
  • Preliminary reports point to edge routers at a number of large ISPs globally, running out of TCAM memory to store IPv4 routing tables. Many of these routers can store a max of 512K routes, and that cap was exceeded today. Broad Internet outages have been reported in a number of countries.

We are currently experiencing an issue where some users may lose access to their exchange email. We are currently restoring access and will update when resolved.

ODS Production

The upgraded version of ODS production (8.4.1) is now available with data current up to 11:00am Monday (11/25/2013) morning.  The nightly refresh is scheduled for ODSP this evening which will bring the data current by the following morning.

Emergency Network Maintenance – Wednesday November 26th from 3:00a.m. until 3:30a.m.

Communications Infrastructure will be performing network maintenance from 3:00a.m. until 3:30a.m. on Wednesday November 26th to resolve issues with network slowness. During this time there may be a short network outage lasting approximately 5 minutes. If such an outage occurs, this outage will affect connectivity between FAU and the internet.  This maintenance is expected to temporarily resolve the following issues that have been reported by end users:

Frequent pauses in Echo360 recordings

Poor Voice-over-IP quality (Non-FAU VoIP providers such as Skype)

Slow / Laggy performance of Remote Desktop sessions for VPN users

Slow / Laggy performance in online games from on-campus housing

Resolved: Echo360 Service Emergency Restart

RESOLVED:  Echo360 will be intermittently unavailable from 3:30-4:00 pm.  The Echo360 service needs to be restarted to free a blocked thread that is preventing content from being ingested.  Any user viewing an Echo recording will have their service interrupted while the item restarts.

 

The service has been restarted and captures are now being  routed to the processing queue as designed.

ODS Production

ODS production unavailability has been rescheduled to tomorrow, Wednesday (11/27/2013) from 12:01pm to 12:15pm in order to redirect WebFOCUS to point to the newly upgraded version 8.4.1.
