Starting at 7am on 12/22/2011, students that have moved to Owl Mail (FAU’s GMAIL implementation), will have the default MyFAU e-mail icon replaced by the GMAIL icon that automatically log them into their official FAU Owl Mail account when clicked.
Similarly all faculty & staff currently being moved to Exchange will have the default MyFAU email icon replaced with the Outlook icon that automatically logs them into their Outlook Web account when clicked.
Due to the high registration load FAU Self-Service Banner (SSB) is currently inaccessible thru MyFAU.
Searchable Course Schedules and the people directly which are accessed outside of MyFAU are also affected.
We continue to monitor the situation and will post an update as soon as we have more information.
The Banner database was restarted at 2:05am to clear out stale sessions and reclaim memory . FAU Self-Service is now accessible and users are able to get in to register.
MyFAU is also now running smoothly again as well.
There was an issue with an App Server that once restarted allowed users to once again access FAU Self-Service (SSB). The influx of users into SSB has caused the database to hit a max session limit. This unfortunately is also causing MyFAU to run slow since both systems are so closely linked.
A notice has been placed on MyFAU asking users having issues to try again after 3am. We continue to monitor the situation and may need to do a database restart if the system becomes completely unusable.
FAU Self-Service Banner (SSB) currently inaccissible thru MyFAU or directly due to high system load caused by the start of advance registration.
We are monitoring the situation and will place an update once we have more information.
The pop mail server was restarted and is now functioning.
Mail should now begin flowing for users that use the either pop.fau.edu or faumail.fau.edu as their pop server settings.
The pop mail service accessed with pop.fau.edu or faumail.fau.edu is currently unavailable. We are investigating the problem and will post an ETA shortly.
Starting Thursday, August 18, after 6 a.m. EST, when you attempt to access MyFAU, you will be prompted to set up a new set of questions and answers that will help you reset your own password if you forget or lose it.
Since MyFAU is part of the FAU universal login (single username and single password) system, this tool will also reset your network, wireless, Blackboard, and email passwords.
This new update will help make the password reset process easier and more user friendly.
You no longer have to call the Help Desk for a reset! The power is all yours!
