Network: Router and Firewall changes during maintenance window tomorrow, Friday, 08/05

Router and firewall changes during maintenance tomorrow between 6 AM and 7 AM. No disruption of service is expected as we perform maintenance on routers and firewalls.

IRM will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deem necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 08/03/2011 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during IRM maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

MyFAU Maintenance – CAS Activation When: 5:00 AM – 5:30 AM What: CAS Activation on MyFAU Affected Services: MyFAU Description of Maintenance: The MyFAU CAS server will be activated. This will require a complete reboot of MyFAU. During that time MyFAU will be inaccessible.

Voice Systems Upgrades at Davie have been completed

On Tuesday August 2nd CSI will be replacing hardware on the Davie campus in the maintenance window between 5am and 7am. There will be no phone service during the outage times.

In case of Emergency dial 911 from any cellular or non FAU phone

Boca core router changes during maintenance tomorrow between 6 AM and 7 AM. There might be a brief network outages as we make remove obsolete routes from the router.

Network: Resolved: Networking issues resolved.

The network outage only affected the student residential areas.

One of the Tipping Point devices went into a failover state with an out of memory condition. This caused the device to stop passing data and a reboot was required.

IRM Status has posted a new item, ‘Networking issues on several buildings Boca campus’

Network: we have noticed networking issues on several building in Boca Campus. They are: 31E (Student Union), 6 (Algonquin), 70 (IRT), 89 (HPT), Village Apartments buildings 56 – 60, and GPT.

We are looking into the problem.

We have received a report that a fiber-optic cable has been cut on campus. The cable is located North of the Memory and Wellness center on the East side of the road. Jade Communications has been contacted and is arriving to fix the cut cable. At this time there is no ETR for this issue but this notice will be updated when additional information is received.
