Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 10/18/2018 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Application Maintenance – New Frevvo Servers
Description of change: Upgrade the University Form server from a virtual machine to a physical device. This will resolve a bug we are experiencing that causes the form service to crash.
Downtime window start: 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services: Forms, Admissions Applications, Application Status Portal
Affected systems: frevvo server
Expected End-user impact: During this time, web users will not be able to submit or lookup the results of forms.

Description of change: OIT will add the Preferred First Names as an optional attribute to SSO, apply Workday Employee Feed Bug fixes, and additional upgrades and patches which may require restart.

Expected End-user impact: During this time, these changes only affect back-end services and should not impact users.

Description of change: OIT will be upgrading several Banner modules, such as Student Financial Aid, General, Accounts Receivable, and Admin Commons

Description of change: OIT will be updating the Microsoft license server to support new versions of Office and Server

Canvas User Management Tool Update
Description of change: OIT will be applying an update to the Canvas User Management tool that is used by Continuing and Executive Education to manage their non-FAU accounts in Canvas.
Downtime window start: 6:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:10 AM
Affected services: Only the tool itself will be unavailable as the update is applied.
Affected systems: Only the tool itself will be unavailable as the update is applied.
Expected End-user impact: During this time, the users that use the tool will be unable to use it during the update. All of the users of the tool have been notified.
NOTE: This tool’s availability will in no way affect the availability of Canvas itself.

Identity Management
Description of change: Install Oracle Critical Patch Updates for Identity Management environment. We ran out of time during the last maintenance window and these patches were held back.

Affected services: Oracle Identity Manager, Password sync, Account Claiming
Affected systems: OIM servers
Expected End-user impact: Users will not be able to claim their accounts or reset passwords while the system is being restarted during the window.
