The Office of Information Technology will be performing maintenance to production Banner, ODS and Data Warehouse systems beginning Thursday, December 19th at 3:00 am. OIT will be performing network maintenance on Wednesday December 18th from 4:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. There may be momentary disruptions to network traffic affecting the Boca Raton and Jupiter campuses during the maintenance window.

We are currently experiencing a problem with the network and telephone services on the Seatech campus. We are working to resolve the problem as soon as possible.

[Completed]Student Union Network Upgrades on November 5, 5:00 – 6:30 am
On Tuesday, November 5, 2019, between 5:00 am and 6:30 am, OIT will upgrade the network in the FAU Student Union Building on the Boca Raton Campus. Due to the nature of the maintenance, users may experience intermittent network outages lasting approximately 10 minutes during this window.

Research Computing Resources
Due to a failure of A/C on the Jupiter Campus the Research Computing resources including Koko, Koko-login, KokoWin, and Samba drives are offline. Physical Plant is working on the issue and we have a long running project in place to prevent this type of failure in the future. If you have any questions please let us know.
BHRIC vCenter instability
The BHRIC’s vCenter server is showing to be unstable. We have a ticket open VMware and to resolve the problems this evening after hours.
OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. Oct 17 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM
Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 10/17/2019 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. Description of change: Upgrade the Biomedical Research Informatic’s Cores Virtual Infrastructure to the latest versions.

Expected End-user impact: Vmware View will lose access to vCenter during this process and users will be unable to spawn suspended or powered offed virtual machines.

Description of change: OIT will be applying patches on the BHRIC server environment

Expected End-user impact: Most virtual desktops will be suspended starting at 2 am. So users accessing the cluster from 2 am to 6 am will need to wait while for their VM to start again should they wish to use it. Users will also need to wait slightly when they connect in the morning as most services will be suspended.

Description of change: Production Support will be promoting and installing the next version upgrade of the BANNER XE system and all of the updated versions of the Banner XE modules it supports
