Configure best practice settings for windows computers
Description of change: ​OIT will be changing default policy for windows systems to deny some anonymous access

BHRIC Virtual Desktops

https://vhealth.fau.edu is currently offline due to an VMware error that occurred while applying updates. We are currently on the phone with VMware attempting to resolve the issue but do not expect it to be online by 8 am. At this time users should connect to https://vhealthon.fau.edu to connect to the BHRIC Virtual Desktops. We are working with the firewall team to make sure all users have access to this URL.

Description of change: OIT will be upgrading Banner.

Server Upgrades
Description of change: OIT is upgrading servers.

Affected services: ​​Single Sign On, any login services that depend on the Oracle Unified Directory directory access servers such as logins to various UNIX servers. Other services that rely on directory access information for group management/generation.
Expected End-user impact: Minimal end-user impact is expected. If you receive error while trying to log in to a single-sign on enable service, try again after the maintenance window.


Research Computing Active Directory Clean Up
Description of change: Research Computing will be cleaning up the Active Directory objects used to provide services, desktops, servers, etc… ​

BHRIC Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Maintenance

THE BHRIC Virtual Desktop Infrastructure will be updated Friday morning at 3 am. As OIT will be replacing the DHCP server be sure to reach out if there are any BHRIC/secure virtual desktop (VDI).

Issues should be reported to Research Computing <hpc.fau.edu> through your College or Division’s support team.

In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

Server Upgrades
Description of change: OIT is upgrading a couple backend servers responsible for various file transfers for automated jobs
Downtime window start 1/13/2022 3:00 AM
Downtime window end 1/13/2022 5:00 AM
Affected services: Automated processes that require file transfers to and from fausftp and fausftp2
Expected End-user impact: None. User impact would more likely be application group and functional areas who rely on either fausftp or fausftp2 for automated file transfers as this upgrade is being performed during the maintenance window, it has been general practice to not schedule file transfers during this window. However, relevant users should verify their automated jobs afterwards to ensure that the upgrade did not adversely affect their varied scripts.
