Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 11/10/2022 from 12:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:


Server maintenance
Description of change: OIT will perform maintenance on the Kubernetes Management service.
Downtime window start: 12:00AM
Downtime window end: 12:30AM
Affected services: Network Registration, PrivateEye, College of Businesss application
End-user impact: This change could affect load balancing and certs for network registration, privateeye, and College of Business application.


Move Video Conferencing servers
Description of change: OIT will be moving several systems supporting video conferencing to different hardware
Downtime window start: 3:00AM
Downtime window end: 7:00AM
Affected services: Video Conferencing
End-user impact: No end-user impact is expected with this change.


Server Maintenance
Description of change: ​OIT will be upgrading the components of several systems to resolve bugs and add support for newer hardware.​
Downtime window start: 6:00AM
Downtime window end: 7:00AM
Affected services: All FAU Services
End-user impact: No end-user impact is expected.


Server upgrade
Description of change: OIT will be upgrading a development Database server
Downtime window start: 6:00AM
Downtime window end: 7:00AM
Affected services: This will not impact any services in production database servers.
End-user impact: No end-user impact is expected.


Office365 Email Configuration Changes
Description of change: OIT will be performing maintenance on the Office365 email system. No impact to email sending or delivery is expected.

Downtime window end: 7:00AM
Affected services: Office365 email
End-user impact:No impact to email sending or delivery is expected.

Description of change: An Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) database view and related program will be modified for the Google to Microsoft migration project. Adding functionality to track changes for students in multiple areas in Banner.

[Resolved] Mass SMS Texts are being delayed or not sent

We are currently experiencing issues with the Mogli texting tool used with Salesforce. Mass texting request have been paused for the moment as we investigate.

Addition of Google Workspace Quota Login Prompt

Starting at 4 pm October 14th, 2022 users who are using more than 5GB in Google Workspace will receive a notification upon login to all SSO services. This prompt will continue until they decrease their Google Workspace usage. Please be aware that it may take up to 48 hours for Google correctly report usage to OIT so please be patient after cleaning up your account. Google Workspace idle account suspension

OIT will be suspending inactive Alumni accounts (those not used for +180 days) at 8 am Thursday, October 13th.

Description of change: REDCap will be offline while the Office of Information Technology performs routine maintenance.

Server Maintenance Aptitude Remote Service
Description of change: The Office of Information Technology will be performing maintenance on a remote server used by the Aptitude team and other OIT users.

Affected services: Aptitude Remote Service
End-user impact: Aptitude and users from IEA that use this server to RDP to other servers.

In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:


Disallow personal devices from being managed by FAU’s Microsoft tenant
Description of change: OIT will be disabling the feature that allows personal devices to be joined to FAU’s Microsoft Azure AD.

Affected services: Personal devices
End-user impact: End users will no longer be able to join their personal devices to Azure AD


Server Maintenance
Description of change: OIT will be performing server maintenance on Banner. During this time, access to the job scheduling system may be unavailable.
