Description of change: OIT will be implementing new safeguards for all endpoints.

Configuration change for authentication system
Description of change: OIT will be making a configuration change to the systems that provide Windows authentication.

BHRIC Domain Controller Maintenance
Description of change: Research Computing will be performing maintenance on the health.ad.fau.edu domain controllers.

Server Maintenance
Description of change: OIT will renew certs

Adding monitors to Global Traffic Manager
Description of change: OIT will be adding new monitors to the global traffic manager to make apps on certain clusters be more failover friendly.

Affected services: Services on the k8s cluster that are on the GTMs
End-user impact: No end-user impact is expected as no monitors will be removed until the new one returns green.


Load balancer rotation
Description of change: OIT will be changing the active load balancer.

Affected services: Any websites behind the load balancers, such as main fau website, banner.fau.edu, links, lmsapps, talon, owlres, egrades, papercut, myowl, appstatus and more.
End-user impact: We do not expect any end-user impact as the load balancer should fail over gracefully. In case there are issues, the sites behind the load balancers may not be accessible for a few seconds.


Cloud Native Upgrade
Description of change: The Office of Information Technology will be performing an upgrade to the Cloud Native Core in Boca.

Description of change: OIT will be performing server maintenance on several core systems from 12:00am to 4:00am on May 25. During this time, the undergraduate application, MyOwl Services, Owl KPIs, and Owl Files will be unavailable.

OwlDone bug fixes and feature enhancment
Description of change: OIT will fix SOAR module for HCAA to have text displayed. Changed aid year to be dynamic to more accurately display status financial aid module. Converted owlsey image generation from coldfusion script to be natively handled within owldone.

Resolved – Banner Service Invocation Failed

Good Morning – We were able to identify a service that was causing the interruption for Banner Admin. We made some changes, and now Banner Admin seems to be loading as expected. We will continue to monitor it at this point, but users should be able to connect now.

Service Invocation Failed – Banner Admin

Good Morning – We are having a more than usual count of users getting the service invocation failed in Banner Admin. We are aware of the issue, and are working to determine the cause of it failing.

For now, please try using another browser, or an incognito session. If it does not work the first time, click the logout on the left hand side of Banner Admin, close windows and try again.

We will report back once we have have some more information.

UPDATE – Banner Admin Service & Self Service 9 Registration Issues

UPDATE:

We are also receiving reports that the Self Service 9 Registration service is having issues. When students click on register for classes, they are receiving a 500 error. These issues seem to be related with admin as well, we are working on identifying and correcting it as quickly as possible.

For now users will have issues with Banner Admin and Banner Self Service 9. In addition, some other Banner services may be impacted.

ORIGINAL POST:

We have some users that are having issues with Banner admin. When trying to login, it stays on a blank page and never logs in the user. We are looking a this now, and will report back once we identify the issue.
