OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. May 9 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 05/09/2019 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window.  In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

MYFAU Persona Maintenance
Description of change: OIT will do an icon refresh and adding personas in the backend in preparation for executive education section launch in a few weeks.
Downtime window start: 5:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services: MYFAU
Affected systems: MYFAU website and mobile app
Expected End-user impact: During this time, some pages take a bit longer to refresh while design changes are pushed. Most changes will be more noticeable on the mobile app where caching takes a bit to catch up.

BHRIC Server upgrade from Windows 2012R2 to Windows 2019
Description of change: OIT will upgrade the BHRIC servers to newest version of Windows Server.
Downtime window start: 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services: Services on jup​17-s-profile
Affected systems: jup17-s-profile​.med.ad.fau.edu
Expected End-user impact: During this time, no end-user impact is expected.

Description of change: OIT will upgrade the redcap research tool to the latest stable release. ​

Downtime window end: 6:00 PM
Affected services: Redcap​
Affected systems: redcap
Expected End-user impact: During this time, Redcap will be offline from 5 am – 6 am​ while the database is upgraded.

The Success Network (Starfish) is currently experiencing an outage. OIT is working with the vendor to get the system up as quickly as possible.

Oracle Server Maintenance
Description of change: OIT will be applying the latest Oracle quarterly patch updates to the production ​databases.
Downtime window start: 3:00 AM
Downtime window end: 7:00 AM
Affected services: Banner production, Oracle Identity Manager production, Appworx production, IEA warehouse
Affected systems: Banner, Oracle databases
Expected End-user impact: During this time, services that listed above will be unavailable at times during the maintenance window.​

Description of change: OIT will be performing server maintenance.
Downtime window start: 6:00 AM
Downtime window end: 7:00 AM
Affected services: Internal DNS at all campuses
Affected systems: DNS
Expected End-user impact: During this time, no end user impact is expected

HPC DNS Server Upgrade
Description of change: OIT will be replacing the HPC.fau.edu DNS infrastructure​
Downtime window start: 5:00 AM
Downtime window end: 6:00 AM
Affected services: hpc.fau.edu only​
Affected systems: hpc servers including koko, kokosec
Expected End-user impact: During this time, DNS settings may change for a short time while we perform the forced update to sync time to live.

Description of change: OIT will be Installing Windows Management Framework 5.1, Powershell 5, and .NET 4.7.1 on nodes associated with the boc22mssqloit SQL cluster​
Downtime window start: 6:00 AM
Downtime window end: 7:00 AM
Affected services: Any services using boc22mssqloit as a data source.​
Affected systems: MS SQL server ​
Expected End-user impact: During this time, services using this data source may go offline during restarts​.

Mediasite maintenance – 3/16/2019

Sonic Foundry will be performing maintenance on Mediasite Cloud Servers during the scheduled maintenance window on March 16th between 1:01AM EST and 5:00AM EST.  This maintenance requires taking the environment offline, and as such the site will not be available during this window. We do not anticipate any downtime before or after the designated window.

Canvas Mandatory Course Entry Quiz – Maintenance

Canvas Mandatory Course Entry Quiz was not showing up for users with High Contrast UI Setting Enabled for Canvas. We have corrected the problem and will be deploying the change to production shortly.  The Quiz may be unavailable for a short period of time while the changes are deployed.

[RESOLVED] Internet trouble reaching Google

The connectivity with Google has been resolved and all Google applications are available again.

The internet provider in Miami is having issues reaching Google and it’s impacting all Google applications. In the meantime, you can use alternative search engines such as Bing and Yahoo.

Grade Submission: Emergency Maintenance

Grades Grade Submission DOWNTIME

The eGrades Grade Submission tool will be down temporarily from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM on December 8th, 2018 to preform emergency maintenance.

This update will fix the duplicate listings on the eGrades receipt page for courses with cross listed sections, performance enhancements, and extra verification for Grade Submission.

Instructors will be unable to submit grades during the time period stated above.
