RESOLVED: Echo360 Service Restart

RESOLVED:  Echo360 will be intermittently unavailable from 8:45 AM-9:15 AM . The Echo360 service needs to be restarted to free a blocked thread that is preventing content from being ingested.

Users will be unable to perform EMI transfers, or access and start viewing Echo360 captures during this window.

[RESOLVED] Network Outages in Buildings 8, 8W, 80 and 46

We are currently experiencing network outages in building 8-Student Services, 8W-Student Health Services, 80-Student Support Services and 46-Student Housing Services. We are diligently working to restore these areas and apologize for the inconvenience.

Emergency Network Server Maintenance – Thursday, March 13 from 6:00am – 7:00am

Information Security will be performing emergency network maintenance from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2014 to settings for the Symantec Full Disc Encryption(FDE) central management server.  During this time the access to this network server could  be affected and connectivity for our FDE production users could also be affected.

WebFOCUS 7 production downtime tomorrow afternoon

WebFOCUS production will be unavailable Wednesday (3/12/2014) from 12:00pm noon to 2:00pm in preparation for the software upgrade from version 7 to 8.  This will be the final extract from WebFOCUS 7 production.  Any new or updated reports created/modified in WebFOCUS 7 after tomorrow’s migration will need to be manually applied to WebFOCUS 8 once available.

[RESOLVED] Wireless SMS Provider (Plivo) is experiencing downtime

The Plivo service is now restored. FAUGuest account requests are available once again.

The SMS (text message) provider for the FAUGuest wireless system is currently experiencing downtime.  Logging in with your FAUNet ID is still functional, but any new login requests will not be sent via SMS.

OIT Systems Maintenance, Thursday, March 6 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 03/06/2014 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

When: 4:00 – 6:00AM
Affected services: Blackboard
Affected systems: Blackboard
Description of maintenance: Systems will be applying a patch to blackboard to remedy a java issue some users may see with the newest java version. We will also be making a configuration change to alleviate issues some users may experience with the newest version of internet explorer 11.
User impact: Blackboard will be unavailable for about two hours(likely less) while we apply the patch and make the configuration changes.

Affected systems: octopus.fau.edu
Description of maintenance: OIT will be upgrading the operating system of the server.
User impact: Blackboard users may not be able to use certain building blocks. Servers that utilize the proxy for updates and/or contacting the internet will not work

Disruptive Network Maintenance – Thursday March 6th from 2:00 a.m. until 3:00 a.m.

OIT will be performing maintenance on core network equipment early tomorrow morning from 2:00a.m. until 3:00a.m.  During this time, access to and from the internet and access between various network-based services at FAU will be interrupted. OIT anticipates between 20 and 30 minutes of downtime.
