We are experiencing a hardware failure which has resulted in the unavailability of the following services:
DHCP and netreg on FTL campus
Also affected by the outage are AD Domain services, DNS, and LDAP (supporting netreg) however we expect these services to still be available as they are currently being provided to FTL by other campuses.
There is no ETA for service restoration at this time. We will update this post as soon as we have more information.

Network upgrade bldgs. 98-99 completed
On Monday, July 22, 2013, between 5:00 am and 6:00 am, The networking department will migrate the uplinks to the data switches in buildings 98 and 99 (Innovation Village) on the Boca Raton campus. This upgrade will cause an interruption to the FAU network in the Innovation Village Apartments. Starting Monday 7/22 Networking Department will be upgrading the network equipment in building 86 room 216 the College of Business building. The work will be done from 4:00am to 7:00am daily until all interface ports have been moved to the new equipment. All work will be completed by Friday 7/26. This work only affects the rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors. The Trading room 101 and 101A will not be affected by this work.

The work will be done from 4:00am to 7:00am daily until all interface ports have been moved to the new equipment. All work will be completed by Friday 7/19.
Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 07/18/2013 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. User Impact: the blackberry server will be offline for a few minutes at the end of the migration process.

Description of maintenance: BigIP load balancers are being moved to a new rack.
User impact: Although the LTM units are redundant, during the physical move, there will still be a failover from one unit to the other. Upon failover, there will be a short period of erratic connectivity for services behind the load balancers. These include:
Blackboard, Banner, Myfau, Filelocker, Directory Services, CAS, IDM, Netreg, Sharepoint, OwlApp, UGApp, and Tms Bridge.

Description of Maintenance: www.fau.edu currently allows directory listing. An administrative decision was made to no longer allow that for security concerns.
User impact: From now on, if anyone intended to use www.fau.edu as a file server to allow browsing of a directory to serve up files, they will no longer be able to do so.
