carrier outage to remote FAU campus locations

At 1:59 PM today, (7/6/2012) the FAU network experienced a 60 second drop in the Metro Ethernet connectivity to all of the campus locations. Full connectivity has been restored and we are working with the carrier to determine the reason for the drop in service.

Jupiter Campus Phone System Upgrade and testing Tuesday July 10th

Telecommunications will be upgrading and testing the phone system on the Jupiter campus on Tuesday July 10th from 5am till 7am. During this time period there will be intermittent outages to telephones on the Jupiter campus. In case of emergency please use a cellular or non FAU phone to dial 911. The FAU police can be reached at 561-271-5163

OIT Systems Maintenance, Thursday, July 5 from 3:00am to 7:00am

Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 07/05/2012 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window.  In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:

When: 6:30-7:00 AM
Affected services: Echo360
Affected systems: Echo360
Description: The Echo360 system will be undergoing maintenance in order to improve video load times and responsiveness of the web interface that faculty use to upload course videos.
User Impact: Students will be unable to view Echo360 course videos during this maintenance window. Typically these videos are accessed by students from within Blackboard courses. Also, faculty will be unable to upload new course videos during this time.

Emergency Maintenance – reboots on all Middleware systems

Due to an unexpected issue brought on by the leap second change on July 1st we must request an emergency restart of all Linux systems running Java to fix broken Java processes on Middleware systems

 

 

When: 7/2/12 8:30:00 AM – 9:30 AM

Affected Services: Blackboard, IDM, Ibiweb Test, CAS, DHCP, NetReg, PhoneBill

Affected Systems: bba[1-6], bbc[1-2], bbm1, bbp10, bbp11, lintalon[0-1], dhcpboc[0-1], dhcpjup1, dhcpdav1, dhcppsl1, dhcpftl1, idm[1-2], idm4p, ibiweb2

Description of Maintenance: We will be restarting all Linux systems which use Java

User impact: Brief interruption of services for ibiweb test can be expected

6/29/2012 – SafeAssign Maintenance

SafeAssign service will be unavailable on Friday June 29, 2012 from 5:00 PM US Eastern (GMT-5) to 9:00 PM US Eastern. SafeAssign is being taken offline for a maintenance upgrade.

End-users will not be able to submit papers through SafeAssign during the planned downtime and will receive an error message if they attempt to do so. SafeAssign Originality Reports will not be available to Instructors or Students during the planned downtime, nor will Instructors be able to Access SafeAssign DirectSubmit. Please make end-users aware of these limitations. Use of SafeAssign can continue as normal after the planned downtime is complete.

Exchange mailbox servers reboot 6/23 12am-1am

Exchange mailbox servers will be rebooted for emergency maintenance on 6/23 between the hours of 12am and 1am. No interruptions for end users expected.
